Sorry but I don't get it. It's not the original color and was "restored" 17 years ago. Ok the mileage is low but beyond that I don't see the fascination. It's never going to be driven again as it's only claim to fame is the mileage.

It's a good museum piece and that's about all.

    Surprised?

I don't blame the car. It just seems that its a shame to let that many years pass without a few "experiences" be it a car or a woman.

If it were the orginal color and better yet the original paint, I could see why it's an important car. It's a tainted time capsule.

I bet if you look under this car you'll find out that there's a ton of better restored Dino's out there right now than this.

It's just another low mileage car in my book

Hey guys, I'm the person responsible for selling this car for my friend. I've been lurking to see your comments and it's really interesting. I hope this doesn't come across like I'm trying to sell you guys the car, but I do believe that most of you are genuinely interested in knowing more about this Dino, just because you like Dinos!

The car is a great driver and the current owner has put over 1,000 miles on it in the last couple of years. He has some AMAZING cars and he does actually drive them. Before he got it however, you are all pretty much right, just sat in a couple of California warehouses/collections for about 12 years. The guy at Blackhawk who bought it with 6420 miles and owned it for SIX YEARS told me that he'd be surprised if they'd put more than 2 MILES on it. THAT should be a crime! Ferrari should do some kind of census and then keep tabs to ensure every Ferrari gets driven regularly or else they take it away! This car even had the original tires when my buddy got it just over 3 years ago.

In response to the quoted post, this car has been checked out by someone who knows Dinos and is well known in "Dino-world". Underneath is as good or better than what you can see. I might get it up on a lift and get some pics to post. The engine, chassis, undercarriage, all of it is excellent. I try to be straight up in the ad, it was "restored" 17 years ago, so yes there probably are some better restorations out there right now and like I say in the ad, it's probably not Concours-ready. However, this "restoration" was hand done by a guy who'd won some prestigious Porsche awards. He would find real barn 356's and make them better than perfect, so this car was easy for him and it was done right. It's a Cavallino Classic winner, after it was "restored" and painted a different color! If you've experienced a Cavallino judging .... that is some achievment.

If anybody has questions about the car. You can email me direct. [email protected]

I still think the person who wants this will stick it away somewhere like the previous owners did. Most here I would assume would rather drive them than look at them.

After 10K of driving that car, it's just another Dino. What makes it special is that it's low mileage.

I'm sure it's a wonderful car. But, I also think it's a limited market. We see a lot of time capsule cars and not many of us think they're worth the money.

I wasn't dissing the car. I'm just not excited to have something to put away and tell my friends I really own one -- but I can't drive it.

    No prob.

I hope that whoever buys it does so to enjoy it. IT CAN HAPPEN! This car has a bit of a personality to it and BEGS to be driven.

Funny thing ... two of the guys who owned it and never drove it told me what a great driver it is, LOL, "one of the best I've ever owned"! How would they know, they put maybe a combined 1000 miles on it in ten years. Maybe they meant it was one of the best backers-of-a-truck-and-then-rolling-back-on that they've ever owned. It is sad... I can not argue!

I ran upon Roland's F40 in a hiddie-hole in Landrum, SC a couple of years ago, how'd THAT happen?

    Roland's car was recently sold.

North Carolina and this part of the country may surprise some people with the cars to be found here.
