And your response should have been "Yes it is a Ferrari dressed in a Fiero replica kit" :p

I got the Mustang question and in the end I felt like the dope. The guys pushing the carts back into the grocery store asked me if my car was a mustang. I said no, Ferrari. He just said "oh". the whole time I'm inside I'm thinking why would anyone mistake that for a mustang. I was really confused until I came out and saw the big horse in the middle of the nose. Doh!

Just happened this last week. I had my car in the driveway it does need some body work and I had the rear bumper removed. A guy walked up and was checking out the car he said, " I can make the body all straight for you, just give me the keys and I'll let you know how much it will cost in a couple of hours..." Ah, no thanks....

These losers are a dime a dozen. Why can't one be happy for someone else? When I was a kid in the late 80s early 90s all I ever wanted was a Lexus LS. Not my dream car but my realistic dream car for the near future. Every time I would see one I would always compliment the owner in a sincere way. . Many times they would say thank you. However, other owners would completely ignore me which I always found was rude. Once I got my first one when I was in college I saw the other side of the ballgame so to speak. I had some jerk who was standing on the street corner yell, "Hey nice car" in an obvious sarcastic tone. I looked over at him and said. "Hey Nice Sidewalk!" Anyhow I always thank anyone who compliments my car because I remember what it was like to want one. But yea, whenever you drive a nice car you have to deal with jealous morons it comes with the territory I guess

    LOL! That was good! :D

Seriously, though, where in this country is a Lexus a car to be gawked at? Even in humble Ohio over here, they are just suburban commuter cars.

Driving along the coast with the top off the F355 GTS...a guy pulls along side me (2 lanes in each direction) in a big GMC SUV.

I literally jumped out of my skin when he bellows as loudly as humanly possible the following:

    "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....WOWOWOWWWWHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Seriously, about a full 10 seconds.

I get a lot of stupid comments driving in Las Vegas. One guy yelled at me: "Where's the blonde to go with that car!".

I yelled back "You can't see her because her head's in my lap".

That got a pretty good chuckle...

    Thats good....

I called today to see about moving my insurance to Georgia and I wanted to see how it would affect my car insurance rates and such. The guy on the phone starts plugging in the information when I hear, "HOLY CRAP!!! You have a Ferrari!!!" I replied that yes, I did. About every three sentences he came back and made some reference to it for the rest of the conversation. Nothing negative at all, I think he was just fascinated by it. Then when we finished the conversation he asked me to think of him the next time I go for a drive and have a big smile on my face and think of the insurance guy answering phone calls all day stuck in a room somewhere.... LOL!!!!!

I had a few people ask me if my 4th gen camaro with the RS ground effects was a Ferrari before I painted it black.

I don't see how people would mistake that for any ferrari, a Fiero yes but Camaro no.

Back when I had my 348 Spider I was asked by someone at a gas station, "is that the new Mustang?"

I now believe that if the Ferrari and Mustang horses are side by side as shown above but with Ferraris placed correctly and the general public was asked which was for Fords Mustang, non car people would chose 50/50. They would probably think the background on the Ford looks like a foreign flag.

I had to add to this thread after yesterday’s event. The Ferrari owners of Tallahassee (FOoT) were invited to the inaugural Italian Festa in town and we showed up with 6 wonderful examples, 2008-599, 2004-430, 1988-328GTS, 1999-456, 1985-308GTS and last but not least a 1978 308GTB. Of course there were plenty of funny comments but the one that really got me was a lady that had just looked at all the cars asked if these were the new Mustangs!!!! Another lady standing close by immediately said this is an Italian Fest and these are ITALIAN CARS!

Ferrari 360... I have had it for 2 weeks now... most common stupid question so far is...
Is that the motor? While looking at what is obviously the engine through the glass.

Yes I understand where he was coming from and that some think that the Ferrari Cavallino comes from the same Stuttgart source as Porsche's does. It just wasn't your usual Mustang mistake. ;)

To be fair, how often do you see a real motor? They're usually covered in plastic.
