Bro, was yours an S1 or 2? It's not exactly what I'm looking for but had a brief look into this & maybe it can teach me how to drive properly :D

This is an Sg car & orange too but due for export anytime now so I have to renew the COE which is in 996 territory...... not so interesting again.

That means we can always transplant a K20 engine when it's done yeah? Throw in ITBs etc & it'll be a rocket, there was a local guy who commissioned a full carbon body which saved a lot of weight, wonder if he still has the mould.

my first fcar was a 348 and frankly i didnt have any major issues at all , sold it after 1 year at the same price i bought it , granted dynamically not as sorted as a 355 but it had all the cache of a true ferrari, tubi exhaust gteed it made the right noises and with 355 wheels and color coded lower spoiler, i thot it was overall a great intro to ferrari ownership, the older cars are also really nice but more old world a bit harder to get used to clutch, gearshift etc- 348 more modern easier

talk about coincidence, just saw an orange esprit 350 v8 gt .not sure if it was my ex car

You can join us on that E22 drive 12th Feb 0630. Just don't be late or you'll have to catch us on the highway. For that you'll need a Zonda :D!

Maybe that guy from down-under ;)

It is good only if properly sorted. The electrics & electronics like to mess with you & tuning it is a ***** with the sensitive MAF & the early motronic ECU. The digital aircon system was also an expensive thing to fix if died ($16K @ that time, same for 355 so most guys go Jap parts). Build & fit quality is also questionable. It's all you'll expect of an old car when it's over ten years old but parts & labour are expensive. I'd rather spend the time & money on a better car that I can drive anytime without worrying it'll breakdown. My car was upgraded to Challenge spec gearbox & suspension geometry. (an option for later cars to be fitted sort of like HGTC package)

I had it for 2yrs & it was over 10yrs old @ that time. Sold it for the same money I paid but spent over $45k on it just on maintenance.....& I haven't even done anything to the suspension+bushes.

Harold's yellow GTS was quite alright as it was a late model with the battery @ the back or front? can't remember.

Wilson's GTS had it's fair share of problems & the clutch bearing went bust @ the corner of ShangriLa joining to main road just after a new clutch job!

Joey's GTS was messed up. Some local guy welded the front arms after it cracked & a backyard bumper was made.....

Still, it sounds very good with a tubi over 5k rpm & offers good Pininfarina looks.

Mine was a S2 Exige S. Someone once said that if you can drive one of these well and fast, you can drive most other cars. Sadly, doesn't apply to me... ;)

If it's orange, I might know the car but am surprised the owner (expat who also has a couple other S1 Elises) is letting it go. Very nice original example apparently. This COE thingy is really killing the nice old cars. Hope the car doesn't get exported.

Yeah, there are K20 kits available for these cars, which brings the performance to a whole new level. CF panels are available but quite pricy especially the better ones from japan.

Back in the days when I used to run in the MSS (Malaysian Super Series) and Time Attacks, we had a guy with a Mk1 Exige with a K20 engine inside. We also ran a FD2R in the Merdeka Millenium Endurance race and the K20 engine is testament to continous abuse for 12hrs non stop.

The Honda Exige(as some cutely called it) was yellow. It was one hell of a car in terms of pure NA VTEC power. It pulled beautifully but the only place where you could really enjoy the car is on the track. I had a coupla laps in it and it feels so different from the stock engine. Car is no more though if I am not wrong.

But you will need quite a bit of strengthening in many areas to prevent drive shafts etc from wrecking themselves. Brake upgrades to AP Calipers did marvelous things to the car too. Goes for all mods for any car anyways.

I used to ride a stock Lotus Elise SC and even that was a pretty car around the bends down at SIC. Lack of power steering with go kart style chasis is just amazing.

That yellow S1 Exige with the K20 (and loads more mods) caught fire along the NSH and completely burnt to ashes. What a pity...

My Old Pocket Rocket. Miss her so badly.

Not many appreciators of such Jap Classics, so I thought I will try my luck here eh? So how? Any takers for at least a 'nice car'?

This looks suspiciously like the one I almost bought sometime back! It was a gunmetal unit but repainted to white & has Sti 6-speed gearbox, AP brakes etc. Then another black unit turned up.... somehow I just haven't got the luck with these Jap units & I keep looking @ that Prodrive blue unit in Evo mag :(

Why don't you buy it back again? $30K should bag you one with COE till 18/9.

nope. Definitely aint the one you saw previosly. I sold mine for 22k! With COE till 2018. Bargain eh?

Mine was red followed by silver. It is fully stock as I had it rebuilt for almost a year after getting in a whole car with very low mileage from Japan and transfering just about everything over to my car. And so when it was sold, it was probably the best unit in the whole of Singapore as it was fully stock with lots of brand new OEM bits on it.

Even had the speedline rims for the car!

I aint gonna go back to Subaru for sometime till they decide if their car designers are actually humans or aliens sent to destroy anything beautiful in the Subaru camp. I cant get over the new STI Sedan.

I believe the black has just been sold to a friend of mine too.

Dont think I can join you guys for the E22 drive as the car (Lotus) has yet to be handed over to me as the transfer is not done yet. And also the car is going through a rebuild and so might not be ready in time either. Anyone ok with me riding passenger??? heheheh
