Looks GREAT, Jeff! Who did the engine work? How much power were you able to coax out of it? Where's the engine (and the rest of the car :)) now?

F106A 3 liter engine, ala formula 1 technology from the 60's. 4 Weber 40DCNF carbs, two distributors, wet sump, 2v flat plane crank engine. Bascially two four cylinder engines mounted on a common crank. Basic engine used in the GT4 and 308's through 1979.

Hey guys, Thanks for the compliments!

Gino, The headers are factory. I removed the thermal covers and sent them out for a ceramic coating from Jet Hot Coatings. That's the finish you see in these photos.

Rick, I did the engine rebuild myself except for boring out the cylinder liners, tapering and seating the larger intake valves and the welding repair from the damaged valve. I also had Sammy Hale shave the crank. This was the first ohc motor I rebuilt and my previous experience was assisting engine builds during high school on friends muscle cars. The final output was approximately 280bhp.

Andrew, Gino spec'd it perfectly. This was chassis #0968 and a 1975 USA model.

I sold the car two years ago and its been in Maryland since.

The Laser Star laser jammer is still the best unit we've tested to date.

I am thinking of pulling the motor to seal up to plug the air inlets from the air pump as they are leaking a bit, and that header soln looks like a good "while you are at it job" esp since the rear header is so visible. Awesome pics.

    4RE,
A couple of us use the passport escort portable system. I have it hardwired to free up my cig lighter. It has saved my arse legitimately at least once during our outings. Reviews consistently rate it up at the top. Very few false alarms. Laser detection, blocking is a whole other deal. Chrigel had a great system in his Cali before. You might ask him about it.

How do you like your MaxJax lift?

Which distributor did you buy it from and how did you unload it from the delivery truck? I'd like one but the last lift I bought required I kept a forklift around to unload and install the thing.

    Looks great!

    Here's a couple more....

I'll bet there are cleaner work benches around!

This was during final assembly and valve adjustment prior to bolting the heads back on. The other shows new test tubes on the front header. I eventually removed them for a cleaner exhaust flow. Who am I kidding... Well, at least the headers looked better without them.

Can anyone spot the ________ ?

Ding Ding Ding and the winner is...

Do you want to bet the pot on your answer? Can you clarify answer (b) for the win? More info is needed.

    Hint...

The shim is not as it what most would consider it to be.
