I've always been told this is the original key fob, and I have actually seen this identical key fob with a couple owners with slightly older models. Anyone have any idea as to what the factory did in terms of key fobs, or was this a dealer-specific type item and the factory did not really supply key fobs???

I would be interested to know as well. This is the one that came with my 308, however, I have been told that this is not original.

I had a conversation with the original owner when I bought the car (Fantasy Junction brokered/advertised) and he said he had it since new but could not recall if it came with the car. This car came from Griswold motors in Berkeley which I believe was an Alfa dealer

I worked at Griswold. Griswold Co was Alfa, Ferrari & Aston Martin. The owners Father was the winner of the first race at Watkins Glenn.

That is not an original fob. Do not have a picture here of one but it came stuffed in with the books in a glassine envelope. It was small and rectangular enameled metal and made by Fratelli Lomeli (Lomeli Brothers).

I understand some European deliverd cars came with a different metal fob.

I have a couple in my desk at work still in the envelope.

Many thanks. I would love to see what an original fob is if you ever get around to it.

You might just know this car. I was told this was the first steel car Griswold had delivered. The first owner died a few months back but I recall him telling me he had been on the list to get the first steel car they had as he was not at all interested in a glass car. Upon delivery, he showed up with a magnet to make sure it was steel. Funny how things go.

I can scan and post the sales doc from Griswold if you like.

This is what I have for mine. Unfortunately, I just learned that the real original key I have apparently got packed and is on its way to Georgia.

The one on the left is the one that NoPiston gave me with the keys. The one that is on the key ring now was recently sent to me from Italy by one of my best friends. He went to a Ferrari store and got us a bunch of stuff and sent it.

I dont think either is what would have come with the car originally, BUT both designs have been around a long time.

I think the key in my photo is an F50 key cut to fit my 308. Can anyone verify this??

Wow! Almost 1K for a key fob, Originality is big with Ferrari crowd!!! You can still get the newer authentic Ferrari key fob from a Ferrari store, I bought a couple from the San Francisco Ferrari store for around 20 bucks each. The F50 key came from ebay.

Right, Ken. That's why I retired the original Lorioli fob and bought the same Coinart - Firenze fob you have.

This key fob came with my car too when I bought it. The only difference is the black enamel around the SF shield is not present... Just a "speckled" pattern cast into the metal, with no evidence that there was enamel there before.

I have the A.E. Lorioli fob too, with it's little paper pouch that it came in. It was given to me as a gift years ago from the Ferrari dealer in Montreal when I visited him... I had it in service with my second key set, but considering it's value, I now keep it in a safe place and bought from F of UK a cheap repro Dino key fob to take it's place.
