Just got an email about 2011 dates for the Ferrari Driving Experience in Montreal.
$9700 for the 2 day course
    Drive 458, 599HGTE, California

Has anyone done this? Is it worth it? About 3 times the amount of Skip Barber.

I have done it 3 times. Its a wonderful way to drive the latest models the way they were designed. And if you have the skill and can prove to the instructors by means of data logging that you are going to be able to drive fast without being likely to go off or worse, you will get to drive a 458 faster than you will ever drive. Then there is Quintessence and M-T which with the class act that is Andrew's operation, its latogether more pleasurable than any DE event you have ever done. Other than an OEM function in Europe if you have been so lucky.

But its not S-B - which is a racing school and which will definitely not teach you how to manage floppy padles (to quote Top Gear) or the multiple controls of a 458 or 599.

But then racing is not the same as just driving fast.

Who is Andrew? Is this program run by Ferrari? Or licensed by Ferrari?

I did this the first year they had it. Was it 2005? I dunno. Memory fades. They also had the Challenge races that weekend, and the historic races.

    Was it expensive? You betcha.

Was it worth it? You betcha.

We were driving F430s. To be able to drive a 599 at anywhere close to 7/10s, it don't git much better than that.

    Dale

PS Because I did it the first year, and because this was Ferrari, they didn't make us sign damage waivers. I was, like, you're kidding, right? No? Hot ****ing damn.

If you want to drive Ferrari's fast...... that's your place.

You will probably learn more about driving fast at Barber or Bondurant for 1/3 the price... but you won't be in a 458.

I've always heard good things about this event. Plus, Tremblant is a gorgeous track in a gorgeous setting.

    Enjoy! :D

Tremblant is stunning. A fabulous track, great history and a good challenge.

Will be up again with Rahal's series. Here's a little video taken with my equipment from last year...

Yes it is. He was the grand marshal for the Legends event last July. He was delightful!
