    Hi, I am thinking about equipping my 328 with more modern wheels, and I am curious if you can post some ideas, for example 360, 550 etc or after market. Pls also write if you had to make any modification to the wheel arches, suspension settings etc. Which dimensions do you have (wheels and tyres) ?
    Very curious to see what you guys have.

    made spacers to open the bolt pattern up from 5x105 to 5x114 to get a larger selection of wheels.

    these are 18x8.5 with no other mods

    Here is a shot of my 77.

    Front required longer studs and spacers, (Hillengineering stuff all from Daniel at Ricambi)
    Rear wheels required narrowing to 9 inches and the use of 360 wheel bolts. I also had QA-1s with narrower springs, so your mileage may differ.

    I like the light open look of the 360 wheel and it leaves a lot of room for more brake.

    I expected more harshness from the lower profile wheel/tire combo, but was surprised by the actual ride - not bad.

    How would fronts only work all the way around? Just a little larger spacer out back to widen the track? 360 wheels are getting so cheap these days.

    Hi Doug,

    360 fronts all the way around would work. I have heard of guys doing it. Maybe, check with Daniel at Ricambi for spacers and bolt lengths.

    A word of caution - make sure that the spacers or adaptors that go on your car are of the hub centric type, that is that they fit snugly on the hub lip and that they have a lip to center the wheel. As the name implies,this keeps the wheel centered.

    The pointed indexing bolts do nothing to secure the spacer, the spacer often falls off with the wheel or when attempting to reinstall the wheel. The first photo shows the old front hub and brake assembly. The second shows 8 mm allen screws with washers set down into a pocket i had machined into two of the bolt holes in the spacer. It also shows the hub centric nature of the Hill spacers. With the bolts in place,the spacer stays put -
    (the second photo was taken during the big brake upgrade - Girodisc built the full floating hats for use with brembo 355x32 front discs - overkill, yes, but it always stops)

    These were a very popular aftermarket wheel for the era.

    And for me, that's a key issue. I don't care for "modern" aftermarket wheels for these old cars, as it seems like an attempt to make it something that it is not.

    However, I'm fine with the concept of "period appropriate" aftermarket parts, like these Gotti wheels.

    In my case, I have a spare set of Gotti wheels and tires, along with another "purist" set of 16" QV replica wheels and tires, so I can swap between them whenever I wish a different look.

    Speaking of "different look", since these Gotti wheels are two piece, their center section can be refinished separately. I've tried a number of different looks, and this year I'm trying a bronze painted look, pictures enclosed. The poor garage lighting makes the wheels look more gold than bronze, so don't judge that part by the photos.

    If after a while I don't like this look, I'll refinish them again - perhaps the next center portion "look" will be black, somewhat similar to those Fuchs Porsche wheels from the air cooled 911 time period.

    Dave, I can't tell from your pics, do your wheels actually say GOTTI on them? Mine do not, in one of the spaces is has "55C" and in the other a "Shooting Star".

    The shooting star was the trademark for the Etoile wheels. "Etoile" is French for star. There are some other threads on F-chat that talk about the business relationship between Gotti and Etoile. There are also some web sites on both brands if you do a Google search on them.
