So my dealer is trying to put a deal together for me on a Scud that's in town. It's only about 3 miles from my house, so I drove over to check it out. Surprisingly it has a factory Ferrari stereo in it, along with some speakers (only 2 I noticed where between the seats in the rear).

After talking with the salesman about it, he said he would print me a copy of the window sticker. He mentioned something about the car having ipod connectivity, bluetooth, and ......navigation?

I didn't really believe him, but after looking at the window sticker, it does infact show "RadioNavi System + Bluetooth" on the standard equipment list.

This now leads me to my question. Exactly what does this mean? Does the Ferrari radio have a pop out screen or something for the Nav? I'm extremely confused on this. I've done research on this question, and came up with nothing.

Next question. I'm guessing the sound quality is going to be pretty crappy, not that I want anything "booming" in particular, but because I wouldn't guess it would even come close to the sound of that incredible engine. Any recommendations on aftermarket work, or equipment?

I did find this (see link below) in my research, and holy God, it is amazing. But I live in NC, and Hollywood is a tiny bit far. I would also guess it's a nice penny as well.

So yeah, anything you guys can recommend in this area, I'd be grateful. I completely understand that a radio won't really be needed, and I agree. However, I do like to listen to stuff every now and then, and I especially like a built-in navigation.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. :)

Navigation in the Scud radio is a non-moving map, arrow display nav shown in a small section of the display. It has a full database, memories etc, but nav function is just barely usable without a map.

Ahh, so what you're saying is, I could enter in an address, then it would basically just yell at me to turn whenever or something, but there isn't actually any kind of map? Wow, that's gotta get replaced lol.

It sounds rubbish but I've found the sat nav surprisingly good.
The full screen thing in my wife's LP560 spyder got her lost when we were on holiday in Italy, but the one in my 16M was absolutely fine.

The pictures of the Scuderia with the aftermarket sound system brought me tears. Ferrari worked so hard to reduce weight over the standard F430, and then these guys find a way to put 100+ lbs on extra weight.

It looks great, but it is the wrong car for that purpose. The standard F430 has sound insulation, and leather panels more suitable to install an aftermarket stereo.

I find the stock Navi in the Scuderia quite good for its size. For a total weight of 10.5 lbs (including the 8 lbs speakers console with the top shelf), the system has bluetooth, navi, cd player and an ipod adapter. All the functions without the bulky weight.

The stereo in a Scud is in the engine bay. I have never even entered the code to activate my radio.

I've never turned on the radio to listen to music as well. I only use the radio for the blue-tooth/hands free option.

I have used the nav once. It got me there but to be kind, it's not great. ;)

You're buying this car, asking question about the navigation unit and it says this in the advertisement........?

The factory radio was replaced with a Kenwood eXcelon KVT-614 motorized 6.95″ flip out touch screen radio with the KNA-G510 Garmin based navigation unit. The Kenwood KCAIP-301V allows you to control all your iPod audio and video content from the touch screen.

    Sorry, does not compute!

Greg, calm down, he didn't say that's the car he's buying, it's simply a system he's seen!
