I thought he got a 355 with the rev limit raised 1k. No idea where I read that either.

Hopefully someone knows what actually happened and can straighten things out. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Great find that, thanks:) I have a few articals on that car including Forza mag, and now you have posted new pics for us, great!
That car has been talked about a few times on here over the years. Its said to have re profiled factory cams and an engine RPM limit of 10,000!!!!!
Crazy F355:) Do you know the current owner at all?

You'd think Ferrari would have given him a red one... That color looks nice though.

I had heard the rear suspension was widened a bit as well.

I don't think that blue obd2 F355 is the famous "Schumacher 10,000 rpm car".

I have the Forza edition #73 next to me with the artical in. The car is the same GTS by the looks of it, including the same reg number.
What brought you to that conclusion anyway?

I always thought it would have to be an obd-1 car for the tuning.

Yea that would make sense, i see were you are coming from. They are supposed to be more tunable.
Very little technical information has been released about this car from the factory. Maybe some day some one will get to the bottom of this with real first hand facts. It could all very well be a fabricated myth and the car may just be standard. The only way for sure is to have the current owner post up the facts about the car, like the mythical 10.000 RPM for example. That way we will know for sure, does anyone know the current owner?

The Ferrari factory can tune (put a bit pattern in a fairly large pROM) an ECU any way they please, its the aftermarket that is limited.

Nice find...I too read about the car first in Forza; it's amazing that such a special 355 would be allowed to fall into such poor condition. At least the story has a happy ending, she looks great after the detailing :D

I have seen that car before. I remember the signature on the back of the seat.
Pity that the former owner did not care that much about the car. But it is absolutely a great thing to see what these two guys can do with this beautiful F355. Thanks for the rescue boys. :)

    I love that colour.

    Fantastic, thanks for sharing. :D:D

They did a wonderful job "cleaning" up that car! :D:D

I should throw some dollars to a detailer to have them do that work to my 348.:eek:

regarding the mention of wider rear track, this pic seems IMO to show the rear wheels set further out then stock 355......a wider track would increase feel of stability in cornering, don't know how much so?

That wheel looks more or less exactly like how mine sits on my F355. I am running 11mm spacers all round with 295 at the rear. And yes it does improve road holding from my 8 years experience with them on.
I think the MS car will also has (factory) fitted spacers. Looking at a close up of the wheel and disk, one can clearly see that there is a spacer on the bell of the disk. A standard wheel set up would sit right against the bell. http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/6074/dsc4203.jpg

right, i thought they looked further outboard then stock....though the front appears stock

i figured it was just a backspacing issue, either different offset rims or spacers.....interesting to know from your experience that even just that small change in track width could make a better feeling result...

...so given 11mm spacers x2 = 22mm (0.866 inch).....doesn't seem like much does it LOL
