BBC is also stating Grosjean is back up as well. Either choice doesnt seem very strong. Time for them to get on the phone with Nick Heidfeld
Sad news. Seems he used up all his good luck in that horrendous crash in Montreal. I wish him a speedy recovery but it sounds as if his F1 career is at least on hold.
Why should a F1 driver go to a secondary rally to risk is life?Just for the fun?Money?I hope that the problem with the hand can be solved.I remember Alessandro Naninni...
Indeed. Blick reports his right hand is destroyed. Even if they can save it, I don't see him in F1 anymore. Decision about amputation is happening right now. Renault will give an update later today.
Clearly a man who loves to compete and drive race cars. I applaud him. F1 has it share of accidents and risk. Its racing. These things happen.
Here you can see the car after the crash: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78smQo6ZRk8&feature=player_embedded[/ame] A lot of news report that one of his hands is seriously damaged, and the hospital report has been delayed. Now about the replacement, Eric Boullier said that the most prepared pilot would be Bruno Senna. wish is bad news in my opinion.
Fun. Kimi did the same, snowmobile races, powerboat racing, rallying...because he enjoys it. After Stefan Belloff's crash most teams protected their assets by not allowing them to race in anything else than F1, This has eased up in recent years (especially since papa Dennis left the scene)...but I fear it might come back now. very bleak about this, Kubica and Hamilton are 2 of the most exciting drivers in F1 now, and Kubica is the only one I actually like. I really hope it's all blown out of proportion a little, a bit like Massa's crash...
I share your sentiments, but this is the real deal. He has broken his arm or wrist and also a femoral neck fracture, and either a hip fracture or leg fracture.
There is always hope that the reports are wrong. I noticed how Blick talks about the right whereas Bild about the left side of his body being affected.
Hope he heals quickly and is back behind the wheel soon. What an incredible racer he is. First thought I had when I saw the header......Johnny Herbert.
Last I read they are discussing amputation. An attending physician stated he can neither confirm nor deny this, but the decision to do so is being taken very seriously.
That's what I've read too. That Italian reporter said it as if it had already happened. This is very depressing. A Polish friend of mine knows Kubica personally...I'm told he's a very nice guy. I hope some good news will start arriving soon.
If the hand is so damaged that amputation is considered I don't think F1 is an option anymore anyhow. Somebody mentioned Nannini. Good comparison.
Official from Lotus Renault GP After extensive medical checks, Robert has been diagnosed with multiple fractures to his right arm, leg and hand. He is undergoing surgery. http://twitter.com/OfficialLRGP/statuses/34253236055580672
Local news sites report his manager due to be outside the Hospital to update at 1630 gmt which is a few minutes from now
It's probably far too early to say this, but it is going to be incredibly odd seeing another Senna in a black/gold Lotus-Renault.
...particularly one who is so slow. I really hope the team hires somebody else for that seat. Plenty of talented folks out there more deserving than one with the right name as his only asset.
Only 2 realistic options they have really; Hulkenberg or Raikkonen. Raikkonen will want a lot of money.
Renault can't not have Senna in. It's a media frenzy. Sad. Who knows, maybe he will be quick in this car.
