I hope they have a Real Lamborghini Design under that disguise and not some Revamped-Audi-Gay-Lardo-Looking-Soap-Bar!

Come to think of it, peripheral test wise, most super cars or exotics generally have a similar silhouette... it would depend on people who generally will have no clue what they are seeing... Especially with safety regs, more often cars are looking similar due to it. However, with some exposure to exotics, the aventador should be different enough from the previous gens.

I think they are following the philosophy of the German car makers, look at the similarities between the BMW 3, 5 and 7, The Mercedes C, E and S, - all the Audi cars look alike - especially the front end - probably to reinforce the "look" of the brand. It's a shame if Lamborghini jumps on this wagon. Looking back to the Diablo and prior each car was different and personal - Ferrari still is a believer of unique designs for each model. My 2 cents. Really? No calculated, intentional family resemblance injected into design at Ferrari? Nothing added to the cars meant to connect the family together?

    They dont.

Ferrari is not a company I look to for exciting designs....Lambo, however, generally is.

It looks cool so far, but too much like all the other Lambos. I understand "family" resemblance, but they should have taken some chances with design. But then again Pagani did that, and their new car is hideous. :D

agreed, especially about Pagani...HUGELY disappointing for me (of course, speaking from the perspective of 99.99% of 'critics'..ie, nowhere near able to afford one:) as i said earlier about the lambo...they are trying to walk the modern tightrope in design and biz...make it resemble a Lambo, but also make it not. and 'taking chances' becomes harder to do when you're trying to sell a butt load of cars;-)

Well this is Lambos halo car, selling "boat loads" would not be in the cards regardless....

It just looks like they took to many parts/cues (SOME are good) from the Gallardo and Reventon and Murci. There was a large change from Countach to Diablo to Murci. This was a steep backwards in design IMO. But I'll still take one. :D

true true. but what i meant was that it's not a 'limited run' type of car, even at 400K plus, they still don't want to 'offend' too many potential buyers :D but i'm very glad they decided to stay with a badass NA V-12. +carbon chassis, horiz opposed suspension, cool interior...yes, i'll take one too! gotta crack into the kids piggy banks and really start saving...

Are YOU serious? you must be since your posting. the 'ricer' doors as you claim, are a bit of a leap.

    I agree.

I have to be honest I'm kind of disappointed in the horsepower numbers department. 500k and they are giving you only 700hp? The Ultimate Aero costs a 100k more and you get over a 1000hp.

you've got a strange hang up on the so called 'ricer' doors. never for one second conjured up images in my mind of a 'ricer' car. agree to disagree.

actually, word is it will start in the 420k range. how bout this: for another 80k, Underground Racing will make your Aventador put out 1000+ wheel hp. is that enough?

The Lambo has an NA engine dude but the stroke & compression are also tweaked to redline over 8K rpm.

IMO, the name is in fact cool and consistent with Lamborghini's naming of its supercars...

    See link below for details...

    http://www.autoblog.com/2010/11/15/lamborghini-registers-aventador-name-for-trademark/

In this case, reports have come in that Lamborghini has registered the name "Aventador" with the U.S. trademark office. The name has a number of divergent translations – including, appropriately, Spanish slang for kicking @$$ – but the most pertinent could be that of a thousand-pound Spanish bull that legendarily fought in and was named the bravest of the Plaza de Toros de Zaragoza.

    You got it right !

AVENTADOR has several different meanings in spanish slang

one of them is kinda ... "the one which spits all over the rest"
    "the one with authority"
"the one which does it first"
"the one which throws it all away" ( while others just watch )

that's a very cool name imho

never said ricer CAR, just the doors

I think the doors at least from the pics shown are not a good match for the car

I will of course withhold final judgement for the actual car, should know soon.

Im going to have to agree. It is a bit peculiar to be so focused on the angle the doors raise on, especially when all we have seen are spy shots.
