    The radio reports I've heard have indicated that the pro-Mubarak groups are actually being paid by the govt and are quite violent. I saw video of a govt van speeding through the streets running over groups of people. Really disturbing.

    there have been over 110 assaults of journalists, all or most from pro-Mubarak groups. Anderson Cooper was hit 12 times. The advice is to just stay away from pro-Mubarak groups while the other protestors have been very friendly, hugging, and kissing American journalists.

    other info I'm sure you've heard by now is Mubarak is worth $40-50 B dollars and has never done anything in his life except work for the government. Started out in Air Force and been politician since. All money is in Swiss or London bank accounts, even if he's run out of Egypt the money is still his per international laws.

    Thank you all for your kind words and concern........I really appreciate it.

    I am well and the family is well.

    I returned to Cairo on the second day of the revolution to remove my family to a safer place, but then decided to stay in Cairo.....my mother refused to leave. Cairo residents formed groups of security patrols to keep their residential areas secure from thieves and hooligans. Those who were armed helped others feel safe. Police and government security were absent from streets and still are. For "security reasons" the government suspended all internet services, mobile phones as well as the mobile phone sms service and the blackberry messenger. Communication was cut for almost 2 weeks. The services were gradually resumed 3 days ago.

    The protests continue but are peacful now, but the country remains paralyzed. It's the people against Mubarak and the majority want him to step down. Yesterday were the first talks with the new government in order to try to establish a solution. Yesterday was also the first working day in two weeks and banks are only allowed to work 3 hours a day. Curfew still continues and starts daily at 7pm.
