Hi UK ferrari owners does any body have any information regarding a blue 250 GTO recreation on sale at Joe Macaris? any info would be greatly appreciated, cheers
It used to be green... It was in America in the early 1990s to mid 2000s. Based up on a 250 GTE 2+2. Has been for sale with Joe Macari since at least October 2008, offered for sale at RM Auctions Battersea Park Sale on 29/10/2008, where my pictures here were taken, estimate £180,000-200,000. Not great proportions, windsceen and pillar not good, but none of these recreations are! Paul Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Classic understatement Paul BTW, call up if you get the chance Paul...........#3643 coming on well! Hope all's fine? Cheers, Al.
It's all wrong. The angle of windscreen, the height of the windscreen (too tall), the rear spoiler, the windows, the whole body sits too tall on the chassis, it's a replica.......horrid. horrid things. Look at the level of the windscreen frame and the frame of the side window on the real one (first image) and compare it to the other car (incidentally another car Macari has offered) and also the green pictured earlier on... Al, All good here, when time allows I will call in, slowly getting back to some sort of routine and normality. Hope you're all ok and wintered well. Paul
Hopefully with these images anyone should be able to to distinguish between a fake/forgery/replica/mongrel and the real article. Paul Image Unavailable, Please Login
how about this one, then, also offered by Macari @ GBP450K. Could that money be reasonable for ANY copy?? http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/40128/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63 "indistinguishable from original" - I think it looks weird over the rear in the 3/4 frontal photos?
Also seems to suffer from the same windscreen angle issue as ALL the other replicas.....too vertical. Wonder why no one has solved that problem after what, >100 replicas? May be related to the differences in the chassis dimensions betw. a typical cut 2+2, and a real GTO?
sure can see the differences when they are side-by-side......i don't doubt the metal working skills to make the rebody, but for that asking price i'd expect a few hours on the drafting table or transparency table to some get critical angles and measures for a more precise result
the GTO is a fantastic car,but is difficult to recreate the original line, especially in the back. I restored the original but several cars are all different, small differences that reflect the craftsmanship. I used a GTO on the day of my wedding.
This car is in a huge and very interesting spanish collection.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
