Congrats Scud, great effort. You did quite a few hours driving. All the best for this years season and here's hoping you can defend your title.
no mate, too big a sandpit. punched above our weight all day and the 2 other pilots did a great job, i owe them a lot. thanks for the kind words lads and you haters keep hatin.
great coverage, you got plenty of air time. That race kills the V8 crap, just needs a few more cars or variations/models. i thought the 90 second pit stops was a great idea . what weight HP difference between your car and the Dog food guys car?
not sure, a fair bit i would think plus the cup r is pretty much in RSR territory. they had to carry 100kg's plus a air restrictor, audi carried 50kg's and no restrictor i think so they were nobbled a bit. if they could get more top line V8 drivers to compete each in a different car then the aussie public would jump on board and turn it into the awesome event it deserves to be.
Aren't the cars GT3 legal without that ballast & restrictor? Think they got it a bit wrong if they were trying to equalize the cars, the Audi was clearly quicker whilst the Cup R was about the same as the Cup S cars.
i think there are different rules for different countries which makes it hard for teams to justify coming here. i would think the cup r will run without restrictions next year but who knows. a minimum 90 second pit stop time, ballast and air restictors should be dropped for next year. maybe keep the 100l tank rule.
No need to explain friend, you should see how happy I get when I win $2 on a scratchy. I would be ESTATIC too if I accomplished what you and your co-drivers did that day! Remember, I live my life vicariously through your eyes Scuddy. Congrats again!
Excellent! If you ever need an extra cheif mechanic in the garage on race day, let me know mate. Im good at sitting two tyres on top of each other and walking them around the pits looking important. Image Unavailable, Please Login
there's also this though i would think the porsche would be less trouble and easier to grab spares while at the track anywhere in the world. plus the lads know porsche like the back of hand. not so on the lambo.http://www.my105.com/ListingDetails/tabid/65/p/2/cid/527/id/3668/Default.aspx
I heard a whisper that the Hughes car had you covered and you were just lucky lol sore bloody losers.
i know the lure of AE is too great even for you pp. i just wish phil would say they didn't have the best day, we beat them fair and square and not come up with a range of excuses. our day will come when things don't go right and i'll cop it on the chin.
pics by mr wong, nice bloke. http://www.speedshots.com.au/gallery/othermotorsport/bimf/2011_b12/2011_b12_race/
He didn't hold onto that car very long. Are you able to explain why the Lambo's were not allowed to compete at the 12hr Scud? Could they not be handicapped in some way with weight like other cars.
