When a telemarketer calls...

Crazy as this may appear but I have started to recieve many telemarket calls in the last 2-3 days and when I politely refuse their request, they immediately hang up. My question is- if we are on the Do Not Call register, why can they still call us?

Yeah there is a scam at the moment from India claiming they are calling from M$ or they noticed that your Internet is doing bad things and will fix it for a price etc.

 

Yeah got that one too- claiming that "there is junk emails in your inbox please let us send you a download....for a price". Once you say that you are IT technician :O they disappear...

Back in the olden days life insurance companies used to ring endlessly. One day I said " OK, I'll take out a policy if you will sponsor my VF1000 racing bike" ......... he politely declined and I never heard from a life insurance salesman from any company EVER again !

I repeated this to Nicole who was sitting here on the couch, laughed and said WHAT!!!!!!!

She repeated the same crap, then said for $19.95 she can fix my computer. I told her not interested and I hung up the phone.

You've signed up with them months ago and you are STILL waiting for their service, but now to late and you are fed up and want a full refund!
Let them chase their tails for a week or two looking for your file and waste their time, not yours for a change.

Hi,

I hate the latest trend from telemarketers where they have you on hold. The phone rings, you pick it up, wait 5-10 seconds saying "hello" with nothing, and then suddenly some indian voice pipes up. Obviously they have multiple calls happening at once, knowing most will hang up and just waiting for the sucker who doesn't.

Bottom line is that if you call me and don't say anything for 5 seconds I'll hang up.

I had one telemarketer call me back after I hung up on him because he thought we lost connection.
