Very good observations indeed! I hadn't noticed those myself. I did notice that the black car had a bit camo left in the front and the wheels are typical of a mule, even front ones are different from the rear. Oh and the front pic of the red car is clearly a poor photoshop over the black car. The rear view of the red car actually looks like it is the real thing, crisp clear pic and different surroundings from the other pics. Surely it is from the official photo shooting that seems to have taken place in Baqueira-Beret (Spain) this week.
I would need to see both of them clearly. The black car rear looks more like the standard taste, maybe less original...
Nice, thanks. Comparison between the final design of rear quarter window and the original design (like sketch and black prototype). I like the original better - it lightens up the rear and is sleeker: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey guys, am in Milan, will be off to maranello later this morning for a 4hr view, presentation, and hopefully drive (doubtful) of the FF. I will post my opinion after I see the car in the flesh. If it doesn't wow me, or if its got enough character to win me over........will find out soon and let you know my thoughts. Ciao!!! MJ
OK!!!! Just got back, am knackered! Tired as hell! But will give a review, and leave the rest of the details for tomorrow once I have seen your comments. First off, no photos, very private, lots of security and cameras to watch people. kinda over the top....but what ever...normal to expect from these guys. The presentation was first class, very interesting, smart, and very insightful. It was done by those who actually worked on the car, not some marketing guy who can barely drive. The car is something! I mean it takes a while to understand it, it really does. Your senses take a shock....because when u first see the front end...its a real WOW! The the car is rotating and the profile is low, sleek, wide, creative, aggressive and classy....then u see the side and u get confused with the proportions.....and when u see the back (3/4 view) you get put off....and a full rear view is amazing! very detailed car in the design....very similar to the 612....lots of hidden detail no pictures can reveal....its actually a very very good looking car. You can feel the major leap in tech and quality. The car shown was in one of my fav colors...Grigio Ferro met., interior a new color called toscana (rich tan, aged), very cool....does the car justice! The interior is bespoke enough to differentiate it from the 458/cali dash....there is a passenger display option that gives u telemtry from the driver (speed, manitno, rpm, g force, and other 458 e-diff display) There is a rear entertainment package...(they looked not as upmarket, but quality of pic and sound was great) The rear leg and headroom....best by far than panamera, aston, bentley, 612,....really great. Guys....at first my senses where offended by the confusion...but if this car didnt have a ferrari badge....u would still drool over it....one thing I can assure you of, is that it really delivers all the sensory satisfaction u would want from a Ferrari, a 2+2 gt, and from a V-12....really above the rest of the rivals..in a big way. The design...that a matter of taste...to each his own....the front end looks much better than the 458, the size of the car grows on you, and after a while I thought it shrunk....looked better after i walked away and came back. I think it will be a major hit. Gonna catch some sleep... Will post more and answer q's tommorow.... Yes, I will prob trade my 612 for one...its that good. MJ
Manssour, really appreciate the write-up & looking forward to your additional feedback once you're rested. Can you expand on the part that I bolded from your quote? "put off" in a bad way or surprising way? For the details that don't translate well in photos, would you mind also describing a few those not listed here? Lastly, what's the deciding factor that'll put you into a closed deal? Cheers!
I wasn't put off in a very bad way...put unexpected. The closest design is slightly a profile of a BMW 1 Series hatch....but not really. The cars rear is actuallybthe most designed bit and aggressive! I wasn't putt off, but caught out from expectations. The car is really cool.
Deciding factor is that the car overall is an amazing package. Those who own a 612 will know what I mean....for the same reasons the 612 was unpopular, this will share the some of them. Overall it delivers to the owner everything theta want. This cars performance is quicker than a 599 gtg....sounds like a gto... And has more space than any 2+2 on the market....it worked for me.and I wasn't expecting it to. MJ
Rear seat entertainment?? In a Ferrari... I admit I've not seen the FF, and in theory, I'm quite intrigued by the idea of all wheel drive with space for four. In effect, a high end Panamera/Aston Rapide with real 'Italian' soul-- But NO ONE in their right mind would use a rear seat "entertainment" system in a Ferrari--and the idea to include one is simply WRONG. What, movies and video games while cruising down the autostrada to Lake Como? Heck, a big screen version came as part of the package in my ML63 SUV, and to date, NO ONE in my family has ever turned it on...
Thanks Manssour, I've always liked your old and current 612 so I get what you're saying. I do like the aggressive sound so if it sounds like a GTO as you say, that's icing on the cake. Looking forward to a future thread if/when you get one. Cheers!
Saw the car at private showing in NJ. Pictures look bad Car in person is fantastic. I was realy ready to be un-impressed Plenty of space in the car. A car you can use without any effort. If you are a poser, you probably will not like it. I ordered one. I told myself a while back after my 599 that I was done with new Ferraris. I guess I lied to.
I am going to Maranello on the 22nd for the World Premier Event, this is a three day party with Luca, Alonso, Massa and and staff. I am anxious to see the FF in person, so far I really like it! I am going with my friend Mark Dismuke, General Manager of Ferrari of Denver, should be a great time! I will take pics!
