I  your car, doc! :)

If you lived in DC...I know of one here in Tampa who would like to move.

I could maybe give it a try...;) I've done all of CT except the actual suture of the graft. Cutting open the chest, closing, not so bad, lol. ;) CT surgery is the coolest field imo, but I don't have the hands for that (suturing part). Add on stress for aortic dissection with the pt on ice...too much. IR is about as far as I could do with procedures.

I have been on call the last few days, but was able to get away and get the car out for a drive this afternoon. Did about 20 miles on some great country roads south of town. There was a nice combination of challenging twisties and straights. This thing is soooo amazing!!!

First off, after looking the car over my wife declared that she couldn't believe I bought this piece of junk! LOL It has rubber padding on the roll bars with duct tape and a few stone chips, smell like gasoline, etc... Well honey, it's a race car. Overall condition of the car is very good considering it has been raced for the last 3 years. I actually like the fact that it is not perfect as I am really looking forward to driving the heck out of the car and not having to worry. The bright orange paint looks pretty cool. The 917 reproduction wheels that Jim custom makes are really, really nice! He made a set of 17"s for this car for street use and put Michelin sport pilot tires on them. For racing, they usually use 16s with slicks.

The car starts and idles easily. The engine was detuned a bit for street use and I think Jim and his folks hit it just right. It is LOUD. Not quite as loud as the P4, but much louder than the Stradale. Great, deep rumble at low RPM which then builds to a shriek at high RPMs. The ride is stiff, but not as bad as I anticipated for a full race set up without any dampening. Visibility is excellent.

Trudges around town without much problem. The car is happiest above 3500 RPM, but is OK in the 2-3000 range around town. Once we got out in the country; however, the beast came out. The car revs fast and accelerates VERY quickly. by the seat of the pants test, I would say it accelerates as fast or faster than my Stradale. I was surprised at how much torque this little engine was able to produce. Handling was razor sharp. Handled corners with ease. It is amazing how responsive the car when cornering with the combination of steering input and use of throttle. It is very well balanced.

Clutch will take some getting used to. It is a metalic racing clutch and is more like an on/off switch. Another few days with the car and I think I will have it down. The shift linkage that Jim puts in these cars is very nice. It feels much more solid and a lot like a Ferrari gated shifter rather than the vague feeling in my DP Porsche.

Overall, I am very happy with the car. The only thing I will do is put in an endurance fuel cell (27 gallons) as the present one is 15 gallons. I think that 15 gallons will be too little fuel for events like Crescent Classic.

As others have said here, this is a well thought out car and very well constructed. Good quality products used throughout. I am a happy customer. For anyone interested, give Jim Hendrix (John James Racing) a call and he will be happy to build one for you. NSXER has one on the way!!

Thanks Tim and Chas. I love this state. All you need is a title and a safety inspection. :)

No emissions here, ever. This car passed inspection by the book. But if not, I might know a guy who knows a guy, who knows a guy...:)

There is no emissions required in KC, just the safety inspection.

I don't need emission's on my Porsche. I think anything OLDER than 1996 is exempt from the sniffer in MO.
