Shouldn't the orange part of the front turn signals be on the outboard side of the lens? Looking at the Classic &Sports Car magazine the orange car seems to have them correct but the black and the red cars seem to have them flip flopped...? at least from what i am used to.
Thanks for the Youtube link! Man that classic early Diablo looks so clean and pure! ALso that blue LP400 is stunning.
Or all-white for Italy & Switzerland among others. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
post 8869: The image on the left was shot by the legendary Helmut Newton. He used a yellow LP400 also on various other shots that day. Ciao! Walter
Rumors today that Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Sherlock Holmes) is considering remaking The Cannonball Run...
This past summer I was asked if I would be interested in using my Countach in a movie (small part, huge movie though) but a very cool experience. I said sure and while on the set I heard the same thing about making the Cannonball Run again. My Black 400S 2 was the car they were using in the movie.
Sounds great! Any pics or even a home movie capturing the experience in the making with the Black 400S?
This is the story of an average guy... and a beautiful girl... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_7_y0HhAmY[/ame]
The morning they brought the Countach on the set, we parked it with other cars that were going to be used in the movie. I hung out for a while and talked to the guys working on the set. After a couple hours, more security started coming in and then black SUV's were coming in the area and the actors were getting out and heading towards their trailers. One of the SUV's came in and parked in front of the Countach and out comes Patrick Dempsey. He heads right for the Countach, I was standing next to it talking to guys on the set. Patrick asked if it was my car and off went the conversation. I asked if I could get some pics of him with the Countach and I had my Diablo there as well, SUPER GREATGUY!!! I got to take a bunch of pics of him with both cars but he really LIKED the Countach. He asked me if I would start the Countach. I said sure, so I slid in and he knelt down next to me while I started it. After hearing it run for a couple seconds I asked him if he would like to go for a ride. He said sure, so I slid out of the car and asked him to drive and I would sit in the passenger side. At this point we had the entire set around us and security trying to take down the barracades so we could leave the area. As we were pulling out of the area he was telling me he had a Ferrari Dino and talked about his racing team. He is fantastic behind the wheel. He asked if I had any other cars and I told him I had a DD Countach, and that I would bring it up the next day. After the ride we went back to the set and he had to get ready to start shooting the movie. The next day I went back with my DD and a few pics (and my WIFE) LOL that I took the day before. Again his SUV pulled in and out he came right to the DD. He did not have time to take it for a ride but he signed all my pics and took a couple more photos and he had to get going. I was so impressed at how Nice, Humble, Down to earth he was. He did not ask but I told him I would not put his picture all over the net.
I would offer up my Series One for a Cannonbal remake though I don't think anyone would be interested in the old cars. But only if I was doing the driving, actors can do the low speed stuff Demsey is a true car guy and racer.
Truely, my wife and I were just blown away at how incredible of a guy he is in all aspects. I gave the reader digest version of that day to keep it short, but there was quite a bit more that went on and things Demsey did that he did not have to do. Again, I can not say it enough on how fantastic he was with us.
I'll tell you this, a certain Black/Senape S2 better be offered a cameo in the remake, or a crime will have been committed!
