Yeah, just 27 days to go before the first GP and the begining of the 2011 F1 season, marking the end of what Ron Dennis once called the "Winter Championship" of intrugues and speculations.

    Can't wait for it really.

My favourites for this year? Alonso as WDC and possibly McLaren as WCC.

The best improved team? Marussia Virgin.

Somehow, I don't think that Red Bull will stay on top; just a feeling.

    Yes can't wait..

If Mclaren goes as good as it looks I'd say Button is heading to be a 2 x WDC...;)

But on a more serious note, as I know you will dismiss that statement William, as if my brain has long since departed.

To be honest I really don't know who I favour as in who will win it, it seems harder than ever.

If little is to be gleaned from testing it appears Ferrari are slightly ahead followed by Redbull, however the times cannot be taken too seriously as they test all different set up ect...maybe in Barcelona on Friday more will be revealed.

Good bets are Alonso Vettel Hamilton, in with a good chance Webber, Button, I hope Massa can pull himself into that bracket as well.

Its all good, just a pity about Kubica. And good luck to any underdog, nice to see a surprise.

I back Alonso, because he must be well pissed off of having missed the title last year because of a strategic error, and must be very motivated to clinch the crown at Ferrari to reward the faith put in him. Alonso is a complex individual, moody but detremined. Also, I think that Massa will play his role as tail gunner and not challenge him. From a title contender once, Massa has now slipped back to Number Two at the Scuderia; probably for his last year too.
I don't think that the Ferrari is the fastest or the best car, but Ferrari + Alonso may be the best combination to win the title without internal conflict.

This is where Red Bull and McLaren are at risk. I don't expect the intense rivalry between Vettel and Webber to go away. Button and Hamilton can work together it seems.
But in case case, the team mates have title ambitions in both teams, and will take points from each other, when at Ferrari ....
Button may end up better at looking after his tyres than Hamilton. That should work in his favour.
The Pirelli tyres are the big unknown this season, but there is also these adjustable wings, KERS, etc... Many variables have been introduced.

Kubica could have announced a renewal of form at Lotus Renault, that would have been beneficial both to the team and his career. All this hope is gone sour now ...

Button will out-run Hammy this year if he finds balance in the car. Today Button was not happy, but I'm sure it will be ironed out. Vettel has the best shot out of the hole for WDC, followed by Webber, with Alonso following suit once again. Someone needs to essentially out-innovate Red Bull. There are several great drivers who can be WDC, but the car has to be there. Tough to do, but nothing is impossible.

I just hope Schumacher can outscore Rosberg and score some podiums and hopefully a win...

Schumacher, Vettel, Massa (ok don't laugh! as long as he beats Alonso for some epic toys-out-of-pram moments) or Webber as champion please, since Kubica is out...

If tire management is as important as is being speculated, then Alonso n Button should do well. It will all come clear in less than a month's time, thank God!!!!

Trust me, you don't hope that nearly as much as I do - There's beer on the line!..... :)

As for the whole thing, I just dunno. It seems like we're going to see 2 or maybe even 3 stoppers, and that plays into the hands of Ross & the Schu. Ferrari OTOH, not so much :( Red Bull have Newey, but I don't think they have the "genius" strategist that might be required.

I hope the Mclaren goes as badly as it looks! I know I'm in the minority, and I said it before, but I really don't like the look of the thing - Sorry!

    Cheers,
    Ian

Unless MB has some brilliant tire strategy, I might say now that you will lose that beer :/ Schu is 100% there and able, but the car might just not be all there again. As it sits right now, I believe they will be able to compete with Mcl and perhaps Ferrari, but not Red Bull.

The MB aero update is supposedly 'massive' to the point that it makes the current test car an 'interim' car.

People power might just not be a force ole Bernie can stifle!! Hopefully this will calm down and not impact the race. Things are quite unpredictable at this stage.
