I think he means totally original UNRESTORED- 11K on the clock- probably the cleanest lowest mileage example- and rare 1980.

Makes me wonder what s/n 08820 is worth (the NART Le Mans racer).

    :))

Maybe a Dutch collector will buy it, so depends who laughs last ;-))

Still, even at 11,000 Km on the clock, I would rather buy a Dino 246 GT for the same money (if I had it to spend...).

    Cheers,
    Frank

P.S. I thought the saying was:

Interesting....but I really cant see it selling at that price, at this time, in this economy.

I wonder how that compares with the cost of bringing a used 308 GT4 to concours condition via the classiche programme? For a very particular collector it could be worth it.

It's a private car so it's on consignment, this dealer has multiple of such cars. Since the price is quite stratospheric, I think it is most likely being used as collateral on a loan.

Unless of course, it was simply a typo mistake and the car was really meant to be priced at 49,900 EUR...

Obviously the heavy lifting we have done to spread the news about what a great car the GT4 is paying off!!!

    Hi Guys,

I have read this section for a while but post here for the 1st time.
I own a '80 GT4, Blu Sera with Crema leather, #15394. I am in Paris, France.

I concur with those of you assuming its either a collateral for a loan and the owner is not willing to sell, or its a typo and the actual asking price is 49000 euros.

Quite high, but I know at least 1 car that sold in that price range (show room condition though).
Here in Europe these cars are getting more and more appreciated. There are some
decided buyers that do not consider this model as an access Ferrari (that they will sell for a newer one when they can afford to), but as the model they want. These buyers know the price to pay for a good car.

I wish I had known at the time I bought mine. It is a money pit to put it back in good condition - but such a joy to drive!

I look forward to reading from you...

    Yves

For those in doubt, I confirmed with dealer that the asking price is correct at 149,900 EUR. No loan collateral involved.. the owner actually has more of these cars... .

They also told me that the restoration cost was in fact in excess of 160,000 EUR... . Add in the original purchase price of the car (which apparently was in decent shape) and the number looks even more exotic.... .

However, you do get the Classiche binder with it ;-))

    Cheers,
    Frank

Very interesting that someone has already spent more than 150k EUR on a GT4. Even more interesting to know what it sells for eventually...if it does sell.

you can rebuild a 308 gt4 or a 275 gtb and the cost will similar ( for the same quality of work, and not some half a$$ spray paint restoration)

I think should put mine on eBay.

    Price: 1-meeeeelion dollars!

    :p

Hey Robert... Why don't we all get together and put our cars on eBay for prices in excess of say, $500K, just to see what kind of a ruckus we can create? :D

Imagine that... a dozen or so GT4's all on eBay all at once.

I think that'd be hilarious! LOL!!!

As a 308gt4 owner, I'd just love it if those figures are correct AND they get anywhere near the money, but my first thought was that they got the Euros and kilometres mixed up!! :D

And how, exactly, on a 308 forum does that 'keep the peace'?

I think his comment qualifies as a "semantic betrayal of conscience ".

An unintended cosequence of PF-pride, that may be wholly subjective and at least worth half the effort of trying to hide.

Nevertheless... it takes two to tango and I see your dance-card is not yet full.

Are you asking him for this dance?

    :p
