I think it's really tough to tell. The reason is the rules changes and the tire changes.

Whoever does the best job in adapting has the edge. The testing data we have so far shows nothing. People are sandbagging or during life and durability testing. You really can't draw much from in of those consistently in the top 8.

    Totally agree!

Plus it's a long season and a team that might be dominating the 1st half of the season doesn't always dominate for the whole season as we saw Alonso almost come back to clinch the title last year.

Still interesting to see what people are thinking early on.

With the support that Alonso will get from Ferrari, Alonso will be getting max points for his chassis...

Red Bull will see Vettel and Webber taking points off of each other, same at McLaren.

I really don't see Mercedes competing for the Championship. It looks like Schumi is past his sell date, and Rosberg is good, but not quite at the champion level...

Poor Kubica didn't have the chassis to challenge for the WDC, but in the future he could have been in one of the front-runner chassis had he not been injured...

    Just how I see it...

Pure guess from me - Hamilton. Close second will be Alonso

I think talent wise Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel are the best and equally placed to win the WDC. Any one of these three could easily do it.

It all comes down to the speed of the car over the year and which driver/team makes the fewest mistake.

Vettel by a healthy margin. Massive talent combined with the confidence of being WDC.

Alonso easily dominating the pole calls for a reality check amongst the FA haters.

I'd love to know from whom that "Other" vote stands for: Kobayashi?

My gut choice is Alonso...fired up after his surge to be a contender last year, then his anti climax finish...he needs to put that right.

I choose Hamilton...A bit radical the car at first showing, I'am not sure if alot is still yet to come, could go either way, like a rocket or struggle with length set up to complicated.

I´ll answer that question after the first race.

I have nothing to go on really so it would be pure guess right now.

It's really tough to say right now, but I have a feeling MB is really bringing some heat with these major major changes they have coming. IF the car is right, Schu will dominate and bring an a$$ kicking to the like of which has not been seen since 2004. Per autosport (print edition) just yesterday:

-upgrade package is expected to include modificated front wing, brake ducts, turning vanes, sidepods and new exhaust solution, which is different from what we have seen on other cars
-car used in Valencia and Jerez had problems with cooling in few areas
-degradation of tyres on Mercedes is high, but they will work on it during next tests
-at Jerez rears were degrading very fast, while fronts were graining
-Mercedes won't throw more money into team

    source: autosport print edition

If not, Vettel/Alonso will have it out this year.

Poll should be titled: 'who SHOULD win', rather than who will :). Luck is a HUGE factor in F1, as well as reliability. And both are impossible to quantify, but at least the latter is attributable to the team.

I'm not a nascar fan at all, but at least it's totally unpredictable. You can be leading, and a lap later be in 8th. Wish F1 had at least a bit more overtaking, to make it more interesting. We'll see with the new tires, but I agree it's mostly the tracks' fault. Good day.
