In keeping with delivering its revolutionary new car, Lamborghini revealed that its next supercar would have a pushrod suspension with horizontal dampers – the first time such a system will appear on a production car, according to the automaker. The setup will keep the wheel in perfect alignment throughout the range of suspension travel and a high-end set of Ohlins shocks should keep the tire on the pavement.

For an extra $1500 the springs can be ordered in yellow.

Lamborghini has released information about the carbon-fibre monocoque of its Murcielago replacement that will be revealed in all its glory at the Geneva show early next month.

This new supercar promises an extraordinary new technology-driven package and a key feature in its arsenal will be the extensive use of carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) technology throughout the car, and in particular, in the entirely carbon fibre composite monocoque.

Much like in an F1 car, the load-bearing structure of the vehicle is engineered as a 'single shell' that functions physically as one component, thus taking full advantage of the extreme rigidity of CFRP - and it's light too, weighing just 147.5kg.

In fact, the entire body-in-white of the future V12 model weighs only 229.5kg and boasts phenomenal torsional rigidity of 35 000Nm per degree of twist, according to Lamborghini.

This guarantees a superb feeling of solidity, but, more importantly, extremely exact wheel control with excellent steering precision and sensitive feedback.

As previously reported, the new Lambo's specifications have already been leaked onto the internet via a dealer ordering guide, revealing that it has a 6.5-litre V12 engine, producing 515kW at 8250rpm and 690Nm, linked to a seven-speed ISR (independent shifting rod) robotized gearbox.

This is the most revealing image yet of the forthcoming Lamborghini.

Total vehicle weight amounts to just 1575kg and thanks to the resulting power to weight ratio, it should be capable of racing from 0-100km/h in just 2.9 seconds.

i believe this is pretty different, plus neither the F50 nor Enzo were production cars (eg both v.limited)

 

Overall I kinda like it, but it has too much Reventon in it, which I do not like at all.

 

Lamborghini's are limited production aren't they? Don't really know, but I thought they only made a few 100 per year?

Nope, full production line. Only true limited model is the Reventon.
