Test Drive Unlimited 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I finally got to play this game. Very cool! It's a quick paced game. Cars sound great, especially the 16m. I only have one complaint... the handling. Not a huge fan of it. Any ways to tweak it? I'm not using a wheel.

I was able to get 4k in Hawaii, it looks like that's the most you can get.

The wheel settings work for the controller, play with the settings and it seems to be less twitchy at fast speeds.

Very good to hear. Although I think it's stupid that Atari didn't really take advantage of the beta testing, at least they're working their tail ends off to get it right.

 

Does anyone NOT have a Ferrari yet? I got a 16M the day after I bought the game...Thinkin' 'bout picking up the 599 GTO soon as well.

Yeah, the 599 sounds like crap, but it's still better than the original. The 16M sounds awesome, except it's a little too high pitched at higher revs.

GT5 and NFS Shift. The concept is what i have always dreamt of..i just wished that it would look as good as GT5.

 

Ahhh, I see. I've pretty much been racking up income on the driving convoys; I don't actually race all that much...

Well its technically not possible on the current gen console to have an open world of 1500miles~ and push out the polygon/shader count GT5 cars demand and still have a decent framerate.

The whole island also needs to be sitting in memory as well as making sure traffic exists plus all the other random things happening. GT5 is what 12-16 cars on screen? Are the backgrounds in 3d(like the mountains in the distance) or just 2d pictures?

Some guys have managed to rip the models from FM3 and put them in other games like Shift or GTA4 and it works fine but that's only 1 car on screen, they say once they add more cars it brings their quadcore systems to it's knees.

The only games you can compare it graphically wise would be other open worlds like GTA4 or Just Cause 2, maybe NFS: World but when I tried the beta the world wasn't that big. Against those games it's one of the nicest looking games out there.

I'd say a current gen corei5/i7 with DX11 graphics card it wouldn't be a problem but who is going to invest the $50mill+ on a PC only racing game?

Your dreams will have to wait till the next gen of consoles

 

I just wanted to say I'm already getting bored of this game and have resorted to play Fifa 11 again. For some reason I'm not as excited to play this as I was the first tdu or Forza 3 or F1 2010.

They're on the map, when you go to single player challenges. They aren't always there though. They come up at different times and for different amounts of $. I did one for $65,000 and another for $10,000.

 

Finally got to level 10 on the FRIM and banked $10k!!!

Anybody else disappointed there's no F40 out of the bat. Hoping it might come as DLC later.

Yes, they both have the same icon (bomb-looking thing). You'll just have to wait for them I guess. I haven't seen one come up in a few days on mine.
