Those wheels do look quite good. And with the slightly wider widths, will look even better when on the car.

After 1 and a half weeks of searching for a company to insure my Lotus, and many rejections, I finally got a quote on the car. And only for third party coverage.

Main reasons were my age and also the age of the car and the rarity of the car.

Just am glad that I finally got the coverage I need to start driving it once rebuilt.

Yes, 3rd party only for cars older than 20yrs. They've banded together on this.

What's the lead time to rebuilding it? Are you doing anything to the chassis, cabin & paint? Restoration or customising?

Lead time is possibly about a month.

The HC engine I bought from the UK will take about 2-3weeks to get in. Then there is the time taken to get it into the car and getting all parts and bits running together.

Car is going to be either sprayed to a new colour or possibly wrapped. Kopio - you wrapped the TR? How much did it cost you and where? I got a quote of about 2.8k from Gen Concept for the whole body wrap.

Cabin is stock leather black. May redo the leather but it just seems quite good for now. I will see how it goes and decide how to get the inside done.

Chasis is going through inspection to see where it needs work on.

Altogether exciting!! And then there is the question of rims. 5x108s are hard to find!

Everytime I stop visiting this forum and ******* talk happens. I think she is cute, but I have a feeling her mother will be everywhere in her life, might have to watch your back while humping her daughter or you might end up being the bacon in a sandwich.

    I think I qualify;

    1) I am used to shifting my stick
    2) I can navigate ANY mountain roads with my eyes closed
    3) I make a roommate cause I watch you sleep the whole night

Brilliant. I believe 5 x 108 is Ferrari size. Should be good for all 90s up to F430 but watch out the PCD or add spacers. I have a set of forged 19" BBS style with Hurry that you can try if you like.

Where would Johnson be from? Thanks Tim. Also would it be better to wrap the car or get it sprayed before the engine goes in? Or after? My concern is if the engine goes in after the spray or wrap, it might get a wee bit scratched. But if it is done before the engine goes in, then a more thorough job can be done with engine bay spray and coats etc....

SF - 19" BBS forged? Sounds yummy. Got pics? And who is Hurry?

Douglas - will get pics up once i get myself down to the shop to look at the car.

soh guan chuan auto supply at ubi ave 3 . his mobile 97375050.for wrap i dont think much diff engine in or out since they do not wrap all the way into engine bay i think. but it would help if car is on hoist to get underneath.

hurry tyre is famous tire shop at serene centre that stocks and sells tires for sports cars.look for mr.tan. u may want to check with andrew at eurosport tel 65655995, the lotus agents whether they or their customers might have any suitable used lotus rims for sale
