Pretty good more to come I reckon, he is doing pretty well in testing at 2nd in the time sheets today in Spain. Renault pity they haven't got Kubica, however now is the chance for Petrov to shine. And make the most of it.
Don´t know if he´s going to be a world champion but he seems more then qualified. Atleast he knows how to keep the car straight in the wet unlike a small Brazilian dude.
I think he had a mostly solid season with a some errors yes but he was a rookie last year, this year he's got a bit of experience and has raced on all the tracks that everyone else has. Theres more to come from this man. It was Alonso that spun in Australia. And he almost his the medical car [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YH9kTPgxgs[/ame].
Pretty good. No WDC but better than some others we have in F1 now. He makes too many unnecessary mistakes though.
Good average driver who seems to progrewss well. Hopefully he will open the door for more Russians in F1.
At least one third of the drivers on the F1 grid owe their seat in F1 to sponsorship; Petrov is just one of them.
True. The problem with Petrov is that he is wasting a seat that should go to somebody with more talent. Most of the other pay drivers at least sit in end of field cars
I just recently watched the Japanese and Canadian GP again, in both of these he crashed on his own accord on the front straight. Yes, these were proabably his two low points but they were both very stupid accidents. Furthermore these were at different points in the season. I just think he needed more time in GP2
Yea because Ferrari is really in need for money.. I think they are watching Kubica as Ferrari cares less about money but more about talent
I see your Australia start and raise you a Japan start. He aslo retired from more than 1/4 of all the races last year. On the plus side, he held off Alonso in Abu Dhabi, so I approve of him. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSpC7K1sTNU[/ame]
I think he's great. He's a rookie, they make mistakes. Hamilton, Vettel, etc made lots of rookie mistakes. However I don't think he's another Hamilton or Vettel. . . Oh yeah and he did a great job of holding up Alonso
Pretty funny how people where saying around this time last year that 'when Alonso starts winning races, this hatred will quickly turn around'. Seems like it hasn't, and I'm happy of that.
BWAAHAHAHA! Love it. I agree, Massa is one scary/entertaining driver in the wet - he just can't handle it, especially once they got rid of traction control. Usually now, he just dials it back and trundles along, going slower than the guys around him and playing it safe. It was more fun when he tried to go fast and spun a few times. Speaking of which, didn't he spin a few times on the wet test day at Barcelona this week? Petrov didn't show enough last year to justify keeping an F1 seat - Liuzzi still shows far more potential, for example. I do hope that he can cut way back on the unforced errors and stay closer to Heidfeld. I do give him credit for a flawless drive in the season ender last year, when under enormous pressure from Alonso he avoided any mistakes and did a great job.
