Hi All, Have a good friend very interested in this car and figured I would ask if anyone here knew anything about it. Says it is owned by a Giants player. Any info would be greatly appreciated about the car or the dealer, East Coast Auto Group. Thank you. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-430-STUNNING-430-SPIDER-SILVER-RED-CUSTOM-LOADED-SERVICE-NR-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3f076f8dabQQitemZ270707690923QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks#v4-32 Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would say that car is not for your average person's taste. If you like it, you can probably get it cheap. Someone repainted the nostrils at some point. Personally I think the wheels are hideous but hey, if your friend likes it, who am I to say. I would be better if they had the original wheels somewhere. Why is the dealer in NJ but they say the car is in California? Sounds weird to me.
It's the dash and the steering wheel in red that look pretty odd. But, hey... each to their own. Like I said, a lot of people would not like this combo. Less people in the market means you can get it cheap.
Thanks for the responses. Yes I was a tad concerned about the paint work, but not the look. My buddy has had a string of silver/red combo cars and loves it. I agree it is unique, but it will blend well with his current toys. I posted this in the tri state section as well to see if anyone has any knowledge. He does like the wheels too. He is contacting them tomorrow directly but I imagine this car must be somewhat known in that area. I didn't even notice the location differences. Thank you.
Like I said, they aren't going to get a lot of people asking about this car. I would drive a really hard bargain and blow off the jersey/Giants thing if they bring it up. I would REALLY hit them hard on those awful aftermarket wheels (even if your friend likes them). Get it checked out before buying. Good luck!
Oh yea... He already has his number in mind. I agree that the phone won't be ringing off the hook for that car and we have a stock set of wheels here if he doesn't like them. And if he wants to proceed we will get a PPI.
This car went through Manheim a couple of weeks ago (Palm Beach IIRC) It was announced as belonging to Michael Strahan and a jersey was offered with the car. It was a no-sale as none of the bids came close to the reserve. Not a lot of dealer interest in such a customized car. The dealer in NJ had to truck it down to FL and back. Not a trivial cost.
Correction - I think it was at the Riverside CA Auction. I noticed the car has TX plates in the photos BTW.
The dealer is not too far from where I am. If you would like me to view it in person before proceeding witth the PPI, just let me know.
