One good outcome of the Bahrain GP cancellation is that final testing will take place in Barcelona . That coincides with a 5 day Barcelona vacation that I scheduled last fall. It would be nice to catch some of the testing while I am there. Does anyone know if spectators are allowed in (I assume so). Also is there a fee? How close is the track to central Barcelona?

    Yes, spectators are allowed.

Don't think there is a fee but not sure.

It is a little way out of Barcelona but there is a train station for the track and I imagine the trains will be stopping there as the tests have been fairly well attended so far (mostly by Alonso fans, of course).

Yeah plenty of people there live. Some great youtube vids and I have been being fed great tweets from people there live.

It's interesting hearing from the people actually there as their statements are not 'washed down' by some racing team's PR department. All the spectators who have some sort of idea of what racing cars are all about have stated the Reb Bull carries big speed into corners, the Mclaren has poor braking control and turns in poorly, Williams is looking good, MB has fantastic top speed and good brake balance but lacks turn in due to aero, Ferrari has a great mix of everything.

Thanks everyone. I will try to get out there for at least a day or so. It will make for a nice addition to the vacation and will keep me going until I get to Istanbul in May.
