Not that I don't like it but it looks too much like a mix of the Reventon (headlights+front bumper) and 1st generation Murcielago (overall shape/rear/engine cover).

It certainly doesn't 'look' very revolutionary. :(

+1. From what I've seen it could be a special edition Murci. Perhaps the Germanized men of bull are taking a page from Porsche's playbook and evolving the Murci in the same manner as the 911...to paraphrase Jeremy Clarkson...the laziest designers on earth. :D

    I agree.

Its a nice evolution from the Murci but its not the revolutionary step we had from Countach/Diablo/Murci

It appears to similar to what the F430 was to the 360 :(

+1 on hoping for a more drastic change in styling, but I'll reserve judgment until proper press pictures are released.

Wasn't meant to be. It's a nice progression from what proved to be a very good thing.

Lambo's have always to me when they have come out with a new supercar been a huge wow moment. This not so much.

Muira = wow from anything before it.

Countach = wow from anything before it.

Diablo = wow from anything before it.

Murci = wow from anything before it.

Aventador = meh reworked Murci/Reventon stying that we've seen before.

Germans can't do styling wow very well. They can do wow under the hood, but styling wow is hard for them, so they have to stick reworked styling.

where did everyone get the impression that this new car would be 'out of left field' styling wise? they never said it would be, they've just always said mechanically/dynamically it would be leaps and bounds better than the car it replaces. to me, they've taken my fave bits from the Murcie/Reventon/Gallardo and mashed it up, added 'modern' supercar hardware underneath= win. i love it.

I think to 'most' people, Lamborghinis ARE about wild ('left field') Italian styling. I guess the "they" you speak of .... are now the more reserved Germans. ;)

I think this is actually the new orange (Arancio Argos) which doesn't translate well in a scanned copy of a magazine that has been copied, saved and resized a half dozen times as a jpg.

It was inevitable. The lead time required for print magazines has once again given way to the early release of embargoed material.

This time, from the pages of Evo Magazine Croatia a photo has found its way to our inbox via an anonymous tipster. Just a few hours after Lamborghini revealed photos of the naked rolling chassis we have this clear top front view of the LP700-4 Aventador super sports car - skin intact.

Just in case you haven't already memorized its vital statistics, the LP700-4 Aventador is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 700 PS (690 bhp / 515 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a Graziano ISR 7-speed automatic (single clutch with dual sychronizers) transmission and a Haldex all-wheel drive system that enables the supercar to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).

It has a full carbon fiber monocoque or passenger cell that weighs just 147.5 kilograms (324.5 lbs), while the whole body-in-white tips the scales at 229.5 kilograms (505 lbs). This body structure enables a torsional rigidity measurement of 35,000 Newton meters per degree of twist.

The inefficiencies of print media are a boon for interactive media - we salute thee.

So it is a slightly tweaked Reventon in reguards to the looks? Was kind of expecting more, but I guess I should reserve judgement until I have seen the whole car.

So much for jaw dropping design!

I sure hope other angles have something in store for those of us expecting something more in tune with Lamborghini's heritage, something Shocking!

Jury is still out on this car!
