Hello guys.. I'm looking for the 348 GT Competizione wheels... The dimensions are 8x18in front and 10x18in rear... Thank a lot. Regards Greg
The same wheels were a Euro Option for the TR, so you might find someone with those wheels in that section of fchat
A brand new set was offered to me for $800 but after looking at what it would take to make them work I passed the deal up......next thing I heard was they were being shipped to Sy in England. Never heard if Sy got them installed on his car.
At first i want to thank you all about your respond.. I'm not looking for center locks.. (thanks anyway 355dreamliner) Because i want to have it in full restoration with the stock wheels. I do not know the reason why the car was without wheels... I just bought it without!!
I had those Competizione wheels on my 348 for a while. I went back to the 355 wheels as those Competizione are very heavy compared to the stock 355 wheels. I also thought they looked kinda clunky and dated, but to each his own. I can tell you they aren't cheap.
Good question Ernie, I was more intent on the OP's question as he obviously knows what they look like.....its cool though for someone else to find a pic of my car and post though. Re weight of the wheels I don't have a set of 355 wheels to compare to, but they don't appear to be very heavy to me and I know they were meant to be part of the considferable weight saving originally achieved together with the other changes that were made to the GTC?
The 355 wheels are magnesium much lighter. Heck all those speedline bolts weight on each wheel x 4 is adds up. Thats all unspung weight on those corners. Believe me my mechanic and I each compared the 355 wheel and that Competizione wheel side by side. There is a difference. However, if I liked the looks of the Competizione better than the 355 wheel I would have kept them..weight issue wasn't a major issue since I wasn't racing the car.
Hey Darren, Does your car have the H block in it, and do you have a shaft instead of cables for the shifter?
Yes it has the H block and apparently a different intake manifold unique to the GTC (rumored to be good for 330BHP). The road going GTC's all came with cables, the first mention of shafts I ever heard was from the EVO article late last year, but I think that was a mistake, I've not heard of any equipped with shafts.
Right on, thanks Darren. That's where I first heard of it and why I asked. So what's different about your plenum vs the other H block plenums? Or are your throttle bodies bigger????
Sorry not intake (it has the same H block plenums), it has a unique to the GTC exhaust manifold. More info on differences is at the GTC website http://www.348gtc.com
Yes, under the section GTC Road, click on Changes link and scroll down to "exhaust" there are diagrams and part numbers listed
I see the part numbers, but the diagram looks like the same tri-y/4-2-1 header on the rest of the 348's. They are even paired the same, nonsequentially. I'm just curious what changes they made to the header. Do the heat shields on your car look the same as in the diagram?
I've just had a really good look at the car....if that diagram is a standard 94' cars exhaust manifold arrangement (and that's my reading of the legend) and its an accurate depiction, then my car is definately a little different. You are right in that its a 4-2-1 header and even the pairing looks the same, but the plumbing is definately different, it would seem they have tried to find a way to straighten out the pipes a little more to further decraese the back pressure?....I'll try and take some photo's and see how they come out.
HHHHMMMMM?????? Your pic shows 3 of the primaries. Any chance you could snap another one but with all 4 primaries, and how they merge into the collectors? Oh what the heck, and how the secondary collectors merge also?
