We've been having some great racing over at the RennList League and it got me to thinking; I wonder if there are enough iRacers here to start a little informal league as well. Nothing complex, just a weekly meeting of racers. We might keep score, maybe not. Just a friendly weekly meeting.

I'd be happy to sponsor it (hosting the sessions).

If you guys are interested, speak up. Any thoughts on time/day etc. would be very welcome.

I could personally host about 2 racers here at the shop in our simulators if they have iRacing accounts.

Pass the word, let's get this going!

I'm interested. I think the majority of the Fchat iracers are on the east coast, if that helps with planning.

Chris I didn't reply earlier because I figured this thread would be full.

My time is limited but assuming I can steal the time I'd have some interest. I'll keep watching the thread and see if you get some traction.

OK, no problem. It doesn't have to be a weekly commitment, just a regular session we can meet up at if you have time. I want to make it a set time and day so people can plan around it if possible.

I'm pretty crappy, but I'm in when it fits in my race schedule.

    how could/would this work? given everyone's different schedules/time zones/etc.

is there a way to set up leagues where you practice/qualify at your leisure and then there's multiple races at different times, and only one that counts towards that week's results?

I think it would be great fun to be racing against other Fchatters in real time, but the logistics could be difficult.

Believe it or not, I'm not particularly fast either :)

When I say league, I mean regular session available to Fchatters. I don't think score or points are particularly important (at least at first).

The RennList league is just a bunch of guys who race together every weekend. They did try to keep score at first, but as you say, everyone has different schedules. They quickly abandoned that and just made it a pickup league.

For me, I'd just like to have a place to race the guys I chat with on a regular basis here.

ha! then what am I?

ah, then I misunderstood you. I agree, a private hosted session/"pick-up game" would be fun. maybe I'm a bit too competitive?

Hmm... maybe we can make the top 3 do a drive-through halfway through the race or something :)

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ;)

Actually if you can get a group of guys to meet for a pickup game, I'd join in as often as possible. (like you say) If you want a point system and seasons and such, that's outside my range of commitment at this time.

I'd like to change it up every week. Kind of jump all over the map. That way we get to try things we normally wouldn't and everybody is equally out of their element.
