I was expecting a more revolutionary design, but it seems like Lambo has chosen to take the evolutionary path. I think it looks like a mash-up of the Gallardo and Reventon. Would prefer the carbon side scoops to be painted in body colour instead as it looks protruding in this manner.

    Opinions?

I still think it looks too buzy & too many breaklines. Didn't realised that there's a vent after the side intake & it ain't carbon side scoops, it's enlarged scoop for the radiator with the typical hexagonal grille. Don't like the Gallardo mirror either, the old sweeping long mirror does it for me.

I'm more interested with what's under the skin. Wonder if Lambo would sell a rolling chassis & let other carrozzeria do some magic.

    Jon, since you asked...

This was back in the 60s. The first Muira and one of the first Ferraris to land on our shores. In fact these pics were taken right after the cars were collected off the ship.

If you see a Muira in person, the sheer lines will blow you away. Uncluttered and elegant. They just don't design cars like this anymore.

    Is that your sister? :D

Fantastic stuff mate. Can I post your post on the Lambochat thread? Your father told me the Miura was Canary yellow & btw, this # plate is now on a 997C4convertible & probably a Pdk.

    Is that Ferrari a 330GTC?

Yup, that's my sis and her daughter now is a teen! You can post this on Lambochat and BTW is that 997 owned by the same family that used to have the Muira? He should have stuck the plates on the Zonda!

My goodness, the Miura still has the wrap over the seats. RHD & these two cars must have been like UFOs blasting along the streets in our '60-70s shophouse days.

OOps, plastic wrapped seats belong to the Ferrari :p

Just to think that cars of that era looked like tin cans on wheels but the Muira looks like nothing else. I still think the 60s-70s were the golden years of car design. Still drooling over the BBs, E-types and don't forget the 308GTB/GTS as well.

Yeo family? Now, the love for fast cars runs back generations!

You're right about the word elegant. The new Lp700 doesn't have any of it since Countach but that's probably the DNA now but I can think of the 458 being elegant.

Look @ that centre console & those barnacle speedometers, sweet!

But I hear living with the car is a pain. Heavy all round from steering to shifting. Not to mention the daft design of sharing gearbox/engine oil. Overheating also another consideration in our climate. But the looks... That's why I say a Countach will look great in my living room, more so than the garage when reality really strikes you.

I was watching the Soccerer's apprentice few nights ago & smitten with Cage's Art Deco car. Turns out to be a Phantom coupe that he owns!

Now, when are we doing this classic car thing? Seriously, I might just buy then keep it in EU since they are all registered there & often with classsic plates too.

    This is damn cool huh?

Yep, your dad did mention that he had to use both hands to put it into reverse gear! The Miura was & still is not a car to drive with terrible handling but a first mid-engine V12 that laid down the foundation.

Countach is still not the best with it's odd seat & near blindness so the Diablo is supposed to be the next best thing :D

Seriously bringing classics into SG is a turnoff with the high taxes + lack of expertise. Like you said, keeping it in MY is a better option. What we need is a car friendly, loving top man who sees them as culturally rich mobile art pieces in order for the classic car scene to prosper. Hopefully it leads to our own Pebble beach/Goodwood style events one day. But I am far from hopeful.

BTW your calendars, t-shirt and cash card from ECC is still with me. And the replacement autoglym cleaner. Drop me an sms when you are around as I will be away for the next 2 weeks.

That we must ask Lung to run for The Prime Minister :D

I'll be back only next week, Malaysia is so so for classics but probably the next best thing since driving fast is legally illegal (something the Brits, most EUs & Aussies would want :D ) & they have plenty of nice roads not to mention cheap road tax & affordable homes to house them!

Let's wait for Leang to share with us his experience when he's ready. You guys will have your jaws touching your toes ;)

In fact we should make a trip up KL just to see the BB and Countach. I am sure Leang will be more than happy to bring the cars out with his cousin.

Those are amazing shots! Thanks for sharing. We have to thank the Singapore government for the fact that the Miura is no longer in Singapore....

Fantastic pictures. I am sure it brings lots of fond memories for you. How much does a good condition RHD Muira cost today in UK?
