I have a collection of one guitar. I guess that really wouldn't count as a collection. It is a stage played guitar by Bob Dylan in 1992. He's shown playing it in the book "Tangled up in Tapes." I tracked down the photographer who sent me photos of Dylan in concert playing my guitar. I've searched for a stage played electric guitar for year, but nothing. A few have popped up but have been fakes. I'll keep looking. Image Unavailable, Please Login
All of ours were used on stage Rob recovering drummer Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This gorgeous flameburst Tobias just came in. It's #10 of 250, made in the late 90's by Gibson. A bit of history, for those who are interested: Tobias was a bass company but Mike Tobias made a few guitars throughout the 80's - and when I mean a few, only a few. The basses were custom made in three trims: Basic, Classic and Signature, in 4, 5, or 6 stringed variants. Mike sold the company and name to Gibson sometime in 1991, continued on making basses in the SoCal shop in 1992, where the last official pre-Gibson Tobias was made, #2044. Gibson continued on making Tobias basses and they still do today. They are fantastic basses, but do not hold as much value as the pre-Gibson ones do. Mike went off to New York, started up MTD - Michael Tobias Designs and still continues to make great basses there. I've played a few, owned some of the foreign made / cheaper ones over the past few years, but hope to have a US made MTD in the future. They are solid, light, fantastic tone and just feel durable like a Tonka truck in your hands. Sometime in the late 90's, it is estimated to be between 97 and 99, the Tobias brand at Gibson made a few guitars. The run was 250, which included a few prototypes. Not many people know about these, not even Gibson themselves know much about them at all. I've only seen three others out on the web, and have sketchy information on two of them - one which is a prototype. I discovered #202 on ebay a few years ago when I was watching the prices of "Tobias" under the music section - having it email me daily the additional basses that were added under that name. One day, I saw the guitar and made an offer, had it approved by the seller and a few days later I had an amazing guitar in my hands. The build quality is top notch. Locking tuners, set bridge, and three active Bartolini singles. I wish there was more history about these Gibson/Tobias guitars, but with only 250 of them, they are rare. Collectible? Probably not to anyone else but someone like me. - More pictures of guitar #10 here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/whoapower/sets/72157625739420419/with/5372089974/ - Guitar #202 here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/whoapower/sets/72157622567921483/ - And pre-Gibson Basic 6 #1751 comes up in the photostream in a few places, but nothing dedicated at this time: http://www.flickr.com/photos/whoapower/2847701816/in/set-72157604159710697/ & http://www.flickr.com/photos/whoapower/2847711362/in/set-72157604159710697/ Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Had a red Kramer Ferrington--gave it away to a friend. Cool guitar with action like an electric. Only thing I didn't like about it was it was poorly balanced--very heavy on the headstock side.

Great pictures! I'm very glad to see others have this illness, and are in far worse condition than I. Is there a support group? =D
I had a SS set given to me by Mr Ludwig. I loved it for years as it was light and indestructible but I never got a good sound out of it and almost got into a fight with Carmine Appice over it, he said they sucked and I took the bait!! HA I dont have a set at all now.......I swore an oath never to touch another drumstick until there were now scumbags in the music business... leaving me not much wiggle room!! Some more pics of the collection. I want to have an ESP Mummy guitar airbrushed. ESP don't make them, so I have to buy a donor guitar like one of these black ones and have it airbrushed. I will leave this one till last. For those interested in airbrushing, here is Svee in the UK airbrushing the Mummy guitar. Hi Nice guitars. I have my grandfather's Gibson L21 guitar. The guard on it is dated 1911 but I think it must be a bit earlier. Anyone interested in seeing a picture. I will try to take one.
