This is the Thunderbolt i7 machine, right?

Played around with a 15" MBP at BB today but I'm not sure it was the newest one.

    Kind of an interesting device.

Caveat to those wanting to use Thunderbolt for external disc I/O: you are going to need a next-gen SSD to use even half of Thunderbolt's xfer speed. 80-110MB/s using spindle drives (still waaay better than USB 2). Micron's upcoming C400 can push out 410 MB/s sequential reads, so @ 375 MB/s xfers to (very fast) external disc array.

Find out the specs of their optional SSD before ordering one...might be a better option to use the base 5400 RPM drive until Micron releases their C400 next month.

Also, does this use Intel's Quicksync for video transcoding?

Thermal joint compound = heat sink compound. They put on enough for a dozen or more applications.

    Matte screen?

I need a new laptop, and it's either this + SSD or whatever Lenovo's SB refresh looks like.
