    Is anybody else from here going? I haven't ever been this excited about a local airshow and it is due entirely to the F-22 Raptor/s (apparently two will be there) that have arrived.

    Go early and go often boys and girls, I've heard that the RAAF presence at the GP will be almost nonexistent :(
    Also B2 scratched from the Avalon programme :(

    ...also I'm still jealous ;)

    I was at JORN when they "saw" one fly over Oz, so the operators rang the Yanks to say "hey, whatcha doing spying on us ??!!"

    The Yanks were not amused that JORN could spot their "invisible" plane :p

    But then if you understand how JORN operates then it is impossible to reduce something to that size

    some seious stuff just flew over couple of fighters and a transport turbo prop x4 doing i reckon about 100 knotts awesome,I 've got a headache from it.

    Impressive the F-18s hanging up there at that speed.

    What do you reckon, in the airflow of the 130 or stacked just above it?

    They flew straight over me on Toorak Rd. Had a good view. They were very low and VERY slow.

    that is their usual position for in-flight refuelling and the avionics would have no trouble maintaining that attitude or speed behind a 130, but then the F18 is a "slow" aircraft, circa 1.8 mach from memory top speed, but then they are just a weapons delivery platform :)

    Apparently the F22s won't be flying at the airshow and will be static displays. I still might go on Saturday though.

    I wish Malaysia would bring down an SU-30, dying to see a proper thrust vectoring display. I'll be giving this years a miss, managed to see the past 4 or so shows though.
