Since the concensus is that there cannot be enough timing belt threads this is the first of a series that will provide daily space to rehash all that is already known and to insure that any responsible, logical individual doing a search will be overcome by the shear volume of timing belt threads thereby eliminating any possibility of actually finding the information he or she might be looking for.

    We were a great team.

Too bad he wasn't around in the Griswold or Walnut Creek days but then his liver is the better for it.

I think the timing belt issue should have its own sub-forum....

To belt or not to belt, that is the question.
Whether tis nobler in the mind to change the belt than not
Or to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
when it turned out that the 3-years-or-death advocates were right.
Alas, poor SKF bearing, I knew thee well.

    Or, as Groucho once said:
I would never join a club that would have me as a member.

Or, as Yogi Berra so famously said:
When you come to the fork in the road, take it.

That is all you will ever know, and all you will ever need to know. Fairwell and ado, O great last and final timing belt thread!!!

It's taken my shop three and a half years on my distributors and carbs, are they now liable for the belts when I turn the key????

"Loss of use" claim or just "Free storage"?????

    Hmmmmmm.......

The interior is covered in mildew, looks like week old bread......

After thinking about this for a moment, this actually a very historic moment..........Rifledriver has actually "started" a timing belt thread. My brain feels funny.

This thread services as an ode to the avante garde in all of us. May Claude Debussy, John Coltrane, and Ornette Coleman reign the beacon of timing belt learned-ness.

Don't forget to charge the belts after changing them...they'll be floppy.

Timing belt sub-forum not enough IMO.

    Needs it's own website.

Since the concensus is that there cannot be enough timing belt threads this is the second of a series that will provide daily space to rehash all that is already known and to insure that any responsible, logical individual doing a search will be overcome by the shear volume of timing belt threads thereby eliminating any possibility of actually finding the information he or she might be looking for.

For our second daily thread I want to address the ridiculous notion that new information comes up and how else are we to find that out if not for constant new threads.

Well, here is your chance. We are listening.

I just spent >$30K getting my QV engine rebuilt. Do you think I could save a few bucks if I reuse the old belts?
