Those HREs look fantastic! And they fill the arches perfectly. Are the HREs costly?

    Hello !
I just want to send you a drawing of a special F430 named "Auto Avio Costruzioni 1260" we wanted to build with some friends of mine 3 years ago. The car was a showcar to present a new titanium wheel made for the F430. But sadly, Ferrari attacked our trademark (we own "Auto Avio Costruzioni " since 2004) and stopped the developpement of the car with a law suit that only begins in the middle of march 2011...

PS. Your Scuderia is very nice

Titanium is not a good application for wheels. It is way heavier than aluminum or magnesium in similar applications at a density of 4500 kg/cu m vs aluminum at 2600 and magnesium at 1740. Titanium is less dense than steel (7500 kg/cu m), but has similar strength so is ideal for internal parts where rotating or reciprocating mass is critical.

Titanium wheels are a bad idea, but the wheel design you show is very attractive if executed in aluminum or an aluminum/magnesium alloy.
