    Alright, second warning.

Keep this thread in focus. This is about a Lambo and not movies. There are threads for that...

Because I wouldn't consider the trio of Lucas, Spielberg and Kasdan to be a committee (although I admit my wording was a little misleading referring to the singular - I was trying to be emphatic in talking about 'the artist').

Analysis of the Aventador? Well, I could drone on about the lines and forms for quite some time, but better to just say: I want one. Badly. And it's been a very long time since I've said that about a Lamborghini. Might have to do a lot of over time this year!

We're not talking about movies. We're making general points about the effect, or otherwise, that the 'committee' might have on the design process. I would have thought that was entirely appropriate in a thread about a work of art.

    Really?

Off topic happens at times and we (including myself) are all guilty. But it gets to be too much and I all this feedback im getting behind the scenes about getting this LP700 focused thread back on topic tells me something. So I just asked to respect that...twice.

And for the record I aint just talkin about you :)

O.K. Sorry 'bout that. I didn't realise we had to keep the language strictly to sheet metal talk. I'll keep it direct from now on.

    Well, thats VERY cool!
Lamborghini can produce whatever they want - nothing, absolutley nothing can beat the LP400 Countach on design aspects. I had one and still regret that I sold it 10 years ago for a then-world-record-price!

    Ciao!

I like very much the new Aventador and it is always an almost impossible task to enhance from what was called timeless designs ( I think about Miura, Countach and Diablo ).

The Murciélago, while being a nice car, was not a better looking car than its predecessors, IMVH AYNAIRD* O and the new Aventador is certainly a rightful successor of classic and great Lamborghinis.

This car will be a big commercial success for the raging bull company.

    I would buy that car.

*And Yet Not An Internationally Reputed Designer !!! :)

    +1

and may I add that, IMVVVVVVVVV...VVVHO, I really do not like black painted wheels, it looks dirty, its looks like the car has nothing in the wheel well ... Well you get my point!

IOW black wheels are the best way to make your car looks duller; like if you consciously or unconsciously want to hide something you are ashamed of ...

Wheels must stand out, and help to put in evidence the nice body design as well as the sporty and radical nature of tyres ...

I would like to see a Photoshop of an Aventador with metal finish wheels ...

This back end is already a classic for me. Moults Bravos!!!

A great future is to be expected for the Aventador.

Don't get me started on black wheels! UGHHHH
The Grigio Estoque with the silver wheels is the best for this car!

I have been looking at a bunch of photos on this site, and else where on the web.

Its no doubt a great looking machine..but damn...I Just can't get the Gallardo similarities out of my head. It just doesn't have that "new Lambo" feel to it, like the Diablo or Murice had (even thought the Murice is largely based on the Diablo platform).

Nice machine and nice tech, but I think its gonna look old....fast.

the family cues are on purpose, some like it, some don't, some love it (as i do). but no doubt, you will see different versions of this car, each mildly restyled, within the product life cycle. the hardware underneath is what it's all about, and there's LOTS of potential there, especially the less stressed V-12 (compared to the outgoing car). there are already rumours of a 'superleggera' version being readied to launch in 3 years time. near 800hp, 1400 kilo's. i can't remember which one of the web sites i read it on. it was a small blurb talking about Reiter Engineering possibly competing with this new car next year in GT1. take em with a grain of salt, but judging by the biz model in the past, it wouldn't be too far fetched.

I haven't had time to read the whole thread so apologies if this is mentioned anywhere else, but has anyone heard when the press get their hands on the Aventador? And, presumably, some of you good folk have orders in already, so when are deliveries starting?

Yes, you're right about that. And these wheels in particular don't seem suited to black. I can't figure them out visually in black. Much nicer in the silver.

Just because the Gallardo is the "entry level"
that doesn't mean it ain't a hyper design far ahead than the then previous Murcielago

try to understand that . haters

    * the one who dares to do it first while others just watch and learn ...

    * the one who spits in other's face ...

    * the one who drives recklessly ...

and so on ... It's a very COCKY name

I guess that was the spirit behind that 1993 unforgettable spanish bull's name

Martin, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If they do not like it that doesnt mean you can call them haters over and over again.

I personally dont mind it but I am not sold on it yet. I like the back and actually see some classic lines. I also like it more in that pic posted by Josh. The blue with the black wheels. I can only imagine it in Monterey :)

Black wheels were played out 7 years ago.

I'll take mine in the new orange, or in the grigio estoque. With silver wheels.

:D With black wheels you lose the visual appearance of motion as all you see is large black holes in the side of the car. It looks like something is missing.

I don't know....I am just not really wowed with the way this turned out. It looks like a Lamborghini, but that's even geting a little old. I wasn't thrilled with the Murcielago at first either, but I grew to love it. I just don't get that feeling with this. It's a stereotypical Lambo....
