Ha ha! It was coming toward me on PCH, and turned off about 100ft before we would have passed. No chance to read anything. I wasn't entirely sure with just seeing the nose, but once I saw the rear door/window profile it was easy. No clue whether it was supercharged. When I was a kid there was a small car lot in town that offered a Kaiser Dragon. I had never seen anything like it, and the window profile was etched into my brain.
I never cease to be amazed at your car knowledge but now I have to tip my hat. It is a rather obscure car and pre-dates you by a pretty good margin. FYI In 1954 Kaiser had an agreement in principle to buy the new Chevrolet V8 for the Manhattan. They advertised a new, more powerful motor but the V8 was delayed so they installed McCulloch superchargers. So the 54's and the very few 55's made were supercharged.
All the years reading Collectible Car magazine didn't go entirely to waste. Had forgotten about the supercharged versions as well as the V8 connection. Thanks for the reminder! It's probably the 3rd Kaiser I've ever seen in the flesh, and my eyes are always peeled for the unusual. Nizam can attest to my rather large collection of car books regarding the obscure. Alloy V16 Marmons, fwd Ruxtons, air cooled Franklins, super-efficient Doble steamers, Armstrong Siddeleys with pre-selector gearboxes, elegant Facel Vegas, Amphicars, etc, etc, etc.
burgundy 250 SWB in a Stanford parking lot at 3 this afternoon; i could not believe my eyes. anyone here?
Was followed for about 4 miles today by a yellow Ferrari 360 Spider. It followed me down Zolezzi, onto the northbound HWY 395 on-ramp at Damonte, and it got off at the S. Virginia Street exit by In-N-Out. Also, saw a creme colored older (late 80s-early 90s) Rolls-Royce heading south on HWY 395 by Winco...don't know the model though. -G.B.
Spotted this black Aston Martin DB9 in the Starbucks parking lot by Wal-Mart, Blockbuster, etc. -G.B. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Despite the dirty roads roads from our recent snow-storm, a Silver Nissan GTR was out and about headed south on HWY 395 by the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. -G.B.
Not sure where to post this, but I spotted this yellow California at the W Retreat & Spa Grand Opening party in Bali a couple nights ago. http://sprvxn.tumblr.com/post/3581803419/i-wasnt-expecting-to-see-any-exotics-out-in-bali
Not really an exotic, but I saw a Chevy Volt for the first time ever today. It was up in Caughlin Ranch and had huge green "VOLT" decals on the side of the car. Demo possibly? Anyway, it didn't look half-bad. -G.B.
Beautiful 360, Rossa over (looked like) Cuijo, top down in Santa Cruz Saturday afternoon - maybe running capristo 2? Driver smiling like a cheshire cat
Blue 430 Spider F1 getting a bath in the underground parking at the Fairmont hotel on Fri. afternoon. No challenge grill and a half clear bra on the front hood
Excalibur sedan (didn't catch a good look at the rear but it looked more rounded than the Phaeton with an integrated trunk rather than the stand alone trunk) going west on Hedding on Santa Clara.
A red convertible Audi R8 passed me on 280 yesterday. I didn't even know there was an R8 convertible. I get off on Alpine Rd. and merge into the 2 mph traffic and there is a white Audi R8 convertible one car back. Huh, not only are they avialable, they seem pretty common. By next week there will be more convertible R8s than Priuses.
Rarely post here any more but thought I'd share because the sounds are too good to keep to myself [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWcGlHkPSKc[/ame] -Brian
Saw a yellow Lambo LP640? roadster with the top down parked at The Oaks in Cupertino, paper plates, couldn't tell which dealer though as I was driving on Stevens Creek. Could this be the stolen Lambo I heard a few minutes later on the radio?
Blue Dodge Viper with White Stripes on HWY 395 by the Neil Road Exit. Red Ferrari F430 by the Grand Sierra Resort heading towards Renown Medical Center. -G.B.
