As you all know, since I purchased my car back in April 2006, I have been looking for a more aggressive front bumper. I have always loved the Stradale Front and have been searching and searching and searching . . . . . . and FINALLY I found one locally.

I would only purchase a bumper that I could see and touch because “LESSONS Learned” I purchased a rear turbo look bumper for a porsche and the body shop refused to install it for a couple of reasons . . . . . blah blah blah.

Anyway; I found a Stradale style bumper and Bill B went with me to look at it. OK OK, I went with my checkbook and Bill went to look at it. I also spoke to Dr Luc prior to going with Bill and he told us what to look for.

Bill says it is ok and it looks like it will need some help with the way it will attach to the car, but the quality of the bumper has a great foundation to start with.

So I purchase it and place it in Bills truck and off we go. It makes it way to Dr Luc’s body shop via Bill and Luc analysis it and brings it over to the house for a dry fit (Luc thought that it makes no sense to take the car to the shop and we can do it with leaving my car at home). Well, oh well. Looks close but it needs to slide another ¼” towards the car in order for it to fit properly.

Dr Luc “says hmmmm, hmmmmm, hmmmmm, this will need some re-engineering and takes it back to his shop. He comes back to the house and totally removed all the existing hardware and CREATES the attachments and it fits like a GLOVE. Also he does NOT trust the primer on the fiberglass, so he strips the primer and starts from scratch to ensure a proper bonding of the paint to the bumper as well.

Ok, so now it fits . . . BUT what will it look like. A couple of sleepless nights and me calling Luc, Hey Luc its Robert am I going to see you tonight . . . oh no. not another sleepless night. It was only a couple of days but it felt like a year. Luc sends me a photo with a heading ITS DONE.

He comes over and puts it on and it is NOT exactly to his liking, so off comes the bumper for some re-engineering and a day later – BAM, BOOM and POW . . . . it is ready for reinstall. BUT Luc has a wedding to go to on Saturday afternoon and thinks we need another person to assist him.

Hmmmmmmm; should I be offended . . .I can assist Luc . . . ok ok ok, those of you who know me understand and can appreciate that . . . . yeah we probably need another person.

Scott with nice enough to come by at 7:30am on Saturday morning to help us put the bumper on. The bumper fits right on. No problems, slides right in

But as we are putting on the bottom of the existing pan, a existing metal clip breaks and we try to figure out a way to make it work and out of the blue Luc states, let me look at it. Ok no problem, he goes over to his truck and removes his rear tail light and takes a clip from it so we can get her back together. I love that guy

So this process is done and it is exactly what I wanted and the paint is probably better that the OEM from the factory. A perfect match in color and finish. Very Very well done.

I wanted to thank Bill, Scott and especially Dr Luc (he is a freaking surgeon with bringing a vision to a reality),

I love walking in and out of the garage and taking a peek at the smooth front lips.

Just a guy that made a mold of a Stradale bumper.

Looks great. You should look into this as a new business - if somebody sold these pre-painted and pre-fitted with proper mounting hardware, as a turn-key replacement, bet you'd sell a bunch of 'em.

I know I would look at getting one if it was a ready-to-go solution.

thanks guys for the compliments. The quality of the bumper was / or should I say had a good starting point. The bumper was very reasonable and the body shop was nice to me regarding install price. I have know the body guy for a long time.

if you want one send me a PM. BUT it is NOT a plug and play, but worth the trouble IMHO. Again the bumper is good quality, BUT it took some time in the body shop to make it perfect.

send me a PM and we can go from there.
