Ghibli spyder #1103 has wire wheels and #1165 has the star burst wheels. Both are red/black (which are not my favorite colors for these cars), USA versions with Euro steering wheels. #1103 was built April, 1970 and #1165 in May. It appears they were manufactured 7 spyders apart, since cars 1105 through 1151 were not built. Ivan Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ivan, #1105 was build and is existing and belongs to the Panini-Family! Ciao! Walter Image Unavailable, Please Login
Walter, We may have found one of the 6 cars missing from the Ghibli spyder build sheet that was published in VCM. Interesting that 1105 has rectangular headlight buckets; rather unusual for such a late car. 1103 has toggle switches which is also unusual for a 1970 Ghibli. Ivan
...had only 3 owners from new in Italy and was much pampered over 40 years! One of the nicest and totally original Ghibli SS I ever saw still with its original 1st paint, leather, ANSA-exhaust and its matching-no.-engine! The car was in -almost- "as new" condition, although it had 56,000 km on the clock. I brokered the car yesterday near Verona to its new Italian owner who paid Euro 115,000 for it! btw.- the Ghibli and the Khamsin (and the Bora und Merak) are -IMO- the only cars from that period who looks good with open headlamps like all other cars (Ferrari, Lamborghini, looks quite ugly. This beautiful Ghibli is on ebay right now and I bet it will break the $100,000 mark when the auction ends. That is still a lot less then they bring in Europe, though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200581348350&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#v4-37
Yessssssss!!! And it drove...wonderful!!! The new owner didn`t want to go out of the car..... Ciao! Walter
The color is Blue Celeste/ sky blue metalic/ Himmelsblau: the "magic color" of Maserati as Cozza once described it to me. The light blue color, Bleu Celeste (or with other names) has been available on all Maseratí models since the A6G 2000's, in other words all Maseratis that have been supplied in "series". A very distinct and traditional color that suit many Maserati models very well! Attached photo's: The same car in different light circumstances. A detail that was not even known to the new marketeers at Maserati when they launched the new line of Quatroportes and on which subject we had an interesting discussion back then. walter, but do you sleep at night or research all time? you are a well of information. yes, this is converted, when he came to me was badly damaged, the engine was on fire and had burned the front of the car. red with black interior.
Was the Ghibli already converted when you got it? I would be interested to see the details of how the spyder unique items, such as the rear storage area, truck release, etc were carried out. Does it have the dual floors? Glad you were able to save another Ghibli! Ivan

Nice pictures - but you did not answer Ivan`s question... So, was the car already chopped when you got it in your workshop? this is a photo of the car as a coupe. Ciao! Walter Image Unavailable, Please Login
i have converted this car. the car came coupe, I have cut and reinforced. The bonnet is new because the original was burned.
...a very early car is desplayed at the RETRO-CLASSIC-Show in Stuttgart, Germany. The car is for sale with the local auction-house LANKE. This early Ghibli was originally in "copper" with white leather but unfortunately lost this spectacular livery to boring red with black interior. The car had the typicall "long"rear bonnet and came with Borranis. Estimate is 55-70,000 Euros. Ciao! Walter Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Walter, As per your previous info G#026 seems to be a kind of an auction queen. At our Dutch Het Loo classic car show it was for sale by another company and the was still on 5 spoke Ferrari wheels and all kind car of funny stories to go with the car. Interesting detail tough is that behind the long trunk lid there is a dropped section between the rear lights like G#014. The car is said to have appeared on the Turin show. Ciao, Bart
