Does anyone know anything about the 365 GTC that is being offered by Gooding at Amelia? Has anyone seen it in person? Is it worth bidding on?

It looks like the one that Fantasy Junction had a few months ago. Check their "sold" page and there may be some details there.

But what about prior history based on the serial number or any other info about this car other than the basic stats?

You are right to do your homework of course. From what I understand, these cars offer the best combination of Daytona power and sound and GTC drivability.

It would be my "go right to" car if not another Daytona. :)

Off track, looks like a very nice DB 2/4 mark 3 DHC in your Avatar, many moons ago my dad had one in gold, very rare i think, and a not to dissimilar steering weight to a Daytona. Any pic's?

The Mark III was a great car.....except for the drum brakes (mine didn't have the disc option installed) and the really heavy steering....of course, no AC and non synchromesh 1st gear. I loved the styling and it was a fun car to have but for alot of reasons (most of them mentioned here) I find the 365 much more exciting, especially as someone who wants to actually use the car!
I think this particular 365 looks promising but I was wondering if anyone out there had done a PPI on it or at least seen it in person or driven it?

The 365 GTC from the OP's question is lot #70.

    They just auctioned off lot # 6, a 72 Daytona for $295K vs. an estimate of $320 - $360

    (hammer price, not including commission)

The Gooding 365 GTC (Lot 70) sold at $310,000 hammer = $341,000 with 10 percent buyer's premium. The auctioneer said the car came with a jack but no tools.

Gooding Lot 76, 1967 275 GTB/4 with two sets of wheels (alloy and wire) sold for $1,050,000 hammer = $1,155,000 all up. What's the story? Seems cheap for a 4-cam.

The 275 does not seem cheap (IMHO). Look at the auctions---every major auction
has at least one 275 and a Daytona Spyder. Each are $1 Million cars.
At Amelia, Gooding has one & RM has another the next day.

How rare are these if they keep coming up all the time?? Seems like a lot
of money for something that is ALWAYS available !!

6YMH is a special car. Along with its sister car 0110E it is one of only two 212 Export Vignale Cabriolets. To my eye, they're beautiful examples of Vignale's artistry and the new owner should be quite happy at that price.
