A Williams Formula 1 car has been displayed in Austin, Texas – new home for the returning United States Grand Prix from 2012 onwards – as the city screens the acclaimed movie on late triple World Champion Ayrton Senna for the first time.

With Senna being aired in the Paramount Theater, the car was placed on display outside as the sell-out crowd made its way into the venue.

The film has already picked up the World Cinema Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival and will be showing in the United Kingdom for the first time in June.

In Texas, Senna will be screened again this Thursday, 17 March.

Thank goodness for the Sundance festival or we never would have seen it in the US!

Any schedules out as to other cities?

    Can't wait!

I think it's one of those deals where other than festivals (Sundance, SXSW, etc) it's only getting released if the theater picks it up - i.e. the distributor isn't pushing the film.

if you know a theater owner/operator/manager who is a car guy, plead your case. If it's not a peak time and you can guarantee ticket sales they might be able to pick it up.

Well if I was back home in So Cal, I would have seen it already, but being that I am in redneck country, capital of NASCRAP, North Carolina, I don't think it will be showing around here anytime soon. The nearest large city that might show it, is at least 2 hrs away, Raleigh, but I doubt it.

Charlotte is even farther away, like 5-6 hours. I'm just gonna keep searching the torrent sites, maybe someone will upload a legit screener eventually. I hate "cam" movies.

Sure wish they were showing it in Dallas...

Man what I would give to see it...

    I've got:

    -A Star Named Senna
    -Racing is in My Blood
-Through Driver's Eyes (various onboard views of qualifying and race laps throughout his career...absolutely breathtaking) in Japanese, bought it at the car model shop that was on Rodeo Drive back in 95 (forget the name)...glad I bought it because I've NEVER seen another copy.

Sure wish they would show it somewhere in Dallas, failing that I WILL get the DVD/Blue Ray as soon as it's released!!!
