"The six colours are as follows:

    Wet - orange
    Intermediate - light blue
    Supersoft - red
    Soft – yellow
    Medium – white
    Hard – silver"

.... not to monday morning quarterback but what were they thinking on the white /silver choice?? Very tough to distinguish and no more green?

Or they could leave one tire black (not colored) and make that the distinguishing characteristic.

I wonder if this will change just like the small dot on the sidewall of the tire.

Glad they are getting rid of the green bands around both sides of the tyre but, it's gonna take me a while to remember which colour is for which tyre/compound.

Are the rules the same this year regarding tire usage? For example, will each team be given 2 different compounds and required to use each compound once?

Good question- I wondered the same thing. Also- same as last year as far as having to start the race on the tires you qualified best with?

How is 6 different colors confusing to you when you will only see 2 at a race unless it rains in which case you may see 3 or possibly 4 colors?

You wouldnt ever see white and silver at the same track, they take tires that are not one compound away from each other.

It's stupid making silver and white medium and hard. They should have made medium and hard the furthest away from each other to see clearly which is what.

Or, just don't bother at all.

And... why are they doing this AFTER Bahrain was supposed to run?

This makes perfect sense to me, as we will never see the white and silver compounds at the same race..

We will only ever see Red Supersoft + White Medium, Or Yellow soft + Sliver hard.

    Makes sense.

    White/silver for Prime tyre.

    Red/yellow for option.

    Blue for light rain.

    Orange for lots of rain.

    Roll on Melb :D

Gee, great. Those of us in the U.S. watching on Speed will have to hear Varsha and Hobbs talk about the color scheme ad naseum.

Now that I think of it, it kind of reminds of me of the threat level indicator color codes.
