I picked up my '07 430 in November '10. I absolutely love this car. It has been more fun to drive than I ever could of imagined. However...today I stopped by the Fcar store and saw a shinny Yellow '08 Spider. When I was looking to make the initial purchase the spider wasn't even on my radar. I don't know if it's the smell of spring in the air that makes the spider look so good, but If I traded for the spider will I just be taking an unnecessary beating after having my car for just 4 months?

I have never driven a 430 Spider. Maybe some spider guys can weigh in? Maybe I just need to go to bed and forget about it?

    Spiders resale are better.

You can hear the exhaust much better. It seems like you are going faster. And you can tan while you drive.

    I love to ride outside.

    PS. Women love convertibles.

To me the spider is the better car, but I think most driving enthusiasts prefer the coupe. Not sure why, I love the spider, the sound of the exhaust is always there.. it's fantastic.

Mike- If you can afford it, go for it. Especially for a yellow spider. The coupe weighs a bit less and is a little bit stiffer, but you would only notice that if you were wearing out a set of Corsas or Sport Cups every other week.

The 08 has a few upgrades from the 07, too, including standard CCMs.

There is just a lot of attraction to a spider.

Like mine! It does attract "attention".

I look at it this way:

You can do 99.9% of the same stuff in a spider as you can a coupe. But, this is one thing you cannot do in coupe that you can in a spider:

Pop the top on a gorgeous day and let the fresh air and sunshine on your face.

You guys are getting me fired up! I also had my wife with me when we looked at the car. She didn't say NO, and she also liked it. BTW, the dealership that has the car is the same one that sold mine to me. I don't know if that's good or bad since they know what they sold it to me for. Maybe I'll take my car to them tomorrow and see how the numbers look. Thanks,
    Mike

I just got a F430 coupe. Was looking at both, and was going to get the spider instead, but for several reasons, got the coupe, money being one of them...coupes run $10k-$12k less than the spiders in the same year models. But since getting the coupe, I am glad I did not get the spider, as the car garners so much attention, I know I would have become uncomfortable after a while in the spider. In the coupe you definitely have more privacy...on an empty, open road on a sunday, the convertible however, is ideal! If i bought a Vantage or something, I would have gotten the convertible for sure!

The problem is you always have girls untying their bikinis when you really wanted to go for a drive.

Just in case you needed a little more incentive... It's a 360 but the feeling is the same.
