I had a chance to drive the new Ferrari California today. Love the car except it is not as good looking or fast as the Ferrari 458 Italia or previous F430. I do wish that Ferrari had allowed a glass bonnet option in the California but understand the design issues with retractable hardtop. It looks a lot like the Ferrari 599 and fantastic looking car in person. Photos do not do the car justice.

So my heart is torn as I would rather wait and get the Ferrari 458 Italia even though it is not a convertible- I like the design better and it would be more fun to drive. If I wanted a daily driver the California is perfect and I do like it better overall than the Mercedes SL65 AMG which is the competition. I may get the California in few years once depreciation takes out 50% of the cost as I doubt it will hold its value as well as the 458 Italia or F430.
