A fellow FChatter asked me to look into whether the GTO wheels would fit regular 599s. A little analysis showed that the rears were no problem and the fronts looked close, as long as there were no issues at full lock on the front wheels.

Based on that, the FChatter asked Ferrari, Maranello if they would fit. Affirmative, they said. So a pretty good upgrade would be to put GTO wheels on 599s.

Next question would be, will that magnificent GTO exhaust fit? Probably, but nobody has asked yet. Some GTO or HGTE suspension parts and you have a pretty good upgrade on the 599, minus 60-70 hp and a host of other GTO upgrades, which can never be upgraded.

So no fake GTOs will be possible without spending really serious money, and hopefully not at all, but the possible upgrades will definitely be a way for 599 owners to improve the looks and performance of their cars.

Interesting, there could perhaps be issues on very full lock on the front though but likely to be very minor. As for the exhaust, would be interesting to see if it could be fitted to a standard 599 though and at what cost!

Following our discussion here and the confirmation from Maranello I have a set of GTO wheels on order for my HGTE. Unfortunately the lead time is anywhere from 4-8 weeks so I will take delivery of the car early April on the standard wheels.

I will of course post a full photo documentation when the GTO wheels arrive hopefully no later than early May.

I like the idea of investigating the GTO exhaust however, I have quickly discovered that ordering GTO parts for your HGTE is pricey to say the least. Anyone care to guess the price of a set of GTO wheels? :)

Close but not that bad. $14K including rubber.

Expensive but I hope it will be well worth it.

I will check with my Ferrari contact if we can get a quote on the GTO exhaust.

That's not that bad at all, considering most high-end aftermarket applications can cost close to the same.

I was quoted 6200 by Ricambi for a new HGTE exhaust to fit a 599 GTB. Then I drove my friend's GTO ...been smitten with that exhaust ever since. Yeah, I would definitely be keen to put in on my GTB if it fits.

I was told by Novitec that their GTO exhaust system will fit a 599 GTB but their GTO wheels will not due to offset.

Jason- The GTO parts have not made it into your catalog yet. How much is that exhaust, valved and unvalved?

One reason the Novitec wheels may not fit is that they are 10J x 21 F and 12J x 22 R. Those are 1/2" wider F&R and also 1" & 2" taller F&R, with commensurately wider tires.

You are correct. Novitec released the 458 parts as well as the GTO parts and at the same time are revamping all the other price guides. They are sending me the price guides as the get updated and I am still waiting on the F430, GTO and the 550/575M

What is the best way to get a set of GTO wheels for a 599 GTB HGTE?

I have a complete set GTO wheels for sale

They are painted ultra thin in dark bronze
I bought them in autumn 2020 from Eurospares as the last set from the factory
I had to paint them because 1 rim was grigio corsa satin, 3 were grigio corsa

Rims are like new, no single scratch no damage, perfect balance

complete with Michelin Pilot Super Sport in GTO sizes 285/30 and 315/35, front and rear in K1 spec
Driven 900-1000 Km, no track, no burnouts, no damages
Tires as new with 6-6,5mm thread, DOT end 2020 (fronts) and beginning 2021 (rears)
    New TPMS sensors
    No center caps !
Can add titanium bolts for additonal costs

Mounted in April 2021, driven from April 2021 to August 2021.
Then i had the engine damage and sold the car.

    Price is 8000 € + shipping

14.000 $ for a set is not realistic, you paid to much.

They are nice but I like the early HGTE wheels better; that is what I am running. Sure, the GTO wheels are a bit wider but for what I do, the width makes no difference.

I love the look - the GTO wheels look perfect on the 599... but the pricing on GTO wheels is stupid crazy high. I went with HRE's & will have them painted gunmetal .... its a close look.

Design is always in the eye of the beholder.
Some like these, some the others.

From the technical view, the GTOs are on a higher level to the Pentagram and Monoloitic rims.
They are lighter, about 3-3,5 Kg each rim.
Unsprung and rotating masses are a very important detail for the handling.
Unsprung and rotating masses has a factor which is about 6, so 6x 3Kg x4 rims is about 70 Kg less mass.

They are forged and much stronger as the Pentagrams and the Monolitics.
The rim bed inside is so thin and much stronger, it's a technical masterpiece.

And on a GTB, which is also a technical masterpiece, these GTOs are a must (in my opinion)

    Aftermarket vs original Ferrari
    Everybody's own choice.

Before i got my GTOs i got some offers for Vossen forged rims, similar to HRE.
Shipped to Germany with german TÜV i was at 15.000 €, without tires.

Also the price from post #6 (14.000 $) would be a no go for me.

But if you look at some OZ Ultraleggera or BBS FI-R in these sizes (not available for Ferrari), also forged and very light rims, you see that they also costs about 2.000 - 2.500€ each rim.
It's the technical effort and the production process what you pay for.

So a set of fair priced forged GTO rims is everything, but not stupid crazy high priced.

If you pay attention on them, you will have them for the whole life of the car.

The HGTE are more expensive than the GTO wheels!
