They seem to be a little optimistic that it will fit several years of GTBs.

That's funny. Perhaps it depends on your definition of "fit"

It's the like recent QV wheel auction. Let's see how high it goes!

What the hell is a Saratoga top?

Is it what I think it is, a smoked glass targa?

Who the hell would want that?

Targas are unpleasant enough as it is, unless you're 5' 6".

Does anyone with one of these tops know if they crack after a while? I can't image a single piece of plastic withstanding the crowl shake on the streets of NY for very long...

I know of 2 tops that cracked back in the day. One on a 911 targa and another on a 914. It happened in the cold so unless you drive your 308 in the very cold weather you should be ok, I think.

These Saratoga tops were made in the 80s and were used since the 80s and I never heard one that cracks from the heat, vibrations, shakes, and fatigues. Saratoga tops also makes for the Porches as well, maybe they've experience something.

In my Trans Am the bare glass gives you a precious 1" or so more headroom, it's a nice airy feeling to have the light into the cockpit.....

I guess in NY, that's when I would use it on days where it's not so warm. Extreme cold, no, but 30's and 40's, yes.

I've had one for a long time and ithas not cracked. It actually opens up the interior on the 328 somewhat, but it is hotter on a warm day. I paid more than the current bid 5 years ago, so its at a fair price.

So I almost have my retirement plan fully funded:

    a) my most significant asset is a nice Saratoga top and cover, and
    b) I just purchased an autographed copy of K. Bluemels Ferrari book.

I figure with these in my portfolio, I can cash in my 401K right now. I should be able to live comfortably from the proceeds of the Saratoga top and book when the time comes.

    Thanks Mark!!!

But, seeing the actual bid, I'm sure that this time the bidding will go far up... Depending on the bids I will try to bid only on the last seconds...

The final bid went to high for me...
I think that's the most expensive Saratoga I've ever seen on eBay... On the last 30 seconds the bid rised from US $1.670 to US $2.300...

Mark, I'm sorry, I can't bid so high pal!!
