I've seen it before out in the Jordan Creek area. I thought it was a kit, but I didn't get that good a look at it

Met Chris Worthington a few weeks ago driving his purple blue Maserati. He also bought a purple blue Diablo last fall too. A very nice professional guy. He said he know where I lived and would stop by this summer.

This is a bit premature as I won't be taking delivery until late this year (hopefully before the snow starts to fly).....

But, my order was accepted and deposit went down today ---- McLaren MP4 on its way :):):)

Can I get you to bring the McLaren to the concours if you have it by September?

I got my order in very late, and I've already been told November / December :(.

But, if by some fluke, it comes in early, I'll bring it over :).

Spotted 3 today, all in the Urbandale area
-just now a Red Ferrari Dino on 100th
    -dark blue Maserati Quattroporte
    -late 1970's Porsche 911 Turbo

Then, the other day one of my friends texted me saying he saw an Aston Martin DB9 down by the BMW / Mercedes dealership. Also have seen the red Lotus (Exige/Elise?) on Merle Hay twice in the last 10 days and a red Acura NSX out on Hwy. 163 out by Ottumwa last weekend.

Saw a lovely dark gray Elise/Exige (couldn't tell which at a glance in the dark) with standard issue Iowa plates driving west on Ingersoll from Downtown last night (around midnight) ---- anyone know who has this one?

I just saw that car this afternoon (about 2 PM) over at "Hobby Haven" in Clive on 86th St. Here's a crappy photo I took with my phone. Unfortunately, I did not get to chat with the driver as he was pulling out when I was pulling in. However (and also unfortunately), this car is DEFINITELY a kit --- I saw, and heard, the exhaust --- and that sure ain't no Lambo V12 back there! Looks to be a transverse-mounted V6 (maybe a small V8?) --- so, I'm guessing this kit is built on a Fiero chassis :( Also, the rear grille and tail light assemblies are not correct Lambo items.

......still kinda fun, though....and, the owner certainly seems to be enjoying it as he has been spotted several times already this year ---- so, good for him :) BTW, plates were Iowa standard issue (Polk county, IIRC).

Damn ! That's a good looking kit though, a lot better than that Countach kit for sale in Des Moines.

I didn't get a real close / long look, but at first blush from a distance it does look to be a nice kit, indeed. The real thing that separates the "great" kits from the merely "good" ones, though is the interior --- and, I didn't get a glimpse at all of what this one has inside ;)

Hey guys, I bought my wife an "exotic" 97 Miata for the 26th anniversary of her 29th birthday. ;) So if you see a petite strawberry blond in a pink baseball cap driving a white Miata give her a toot and a wave.

    David,
I sure can't vouch for what was "heard", but it sure looks real to me! What is incorrect about the rear grill and tail assemblies? Roy Cats has a 6.0SE in this color, with this rear grill, and the tails appear to be pretty standard issue. Please don't take this the wrong way, but if you can't tell the diff between the sound of a V6 and a small V8.....

Update: Just checked with Roy Cats, who has owned SEVERAL of these very rare 6.0SE's, and his response:
"The SE cars had different rear grills then the regular 6.0 cars and this one is correct. The taillights are correct as well for the SE..the wheels are real..I don't see anything that says its not..as far as exhaust, the SE cars had electronic baffles, reg 6.0 did not, so it will be very very quiet under low rpm, anything under 3000 RPMS.."

I know there is one in town that lives just down the street from the Saints bar on 50th, it could be that one.

Saw a Porsche Panamera Turbo parked in front of a small grocery store in Fairfield this evening. I know we've had the debate on whether the Panamera is an exotic, but it's rare to see one and I kinda like the way they loon

Just because you rarely see an AMC Pacer it is not exotic.

We might need to post a pic of a Pacer so the younger generation can appreciate its sexy lines.

You couldn't be more right. Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling the Panamera exotic, I'm just saying that they are rare to see.
