whatever. I for one woud'nt touch a second hand imported Ferrari. It just knocks so many future buyers out of the market to buy.
If the oil level is high/max, it's manageable QV is different. We're talking carb cars. Sumps and pick up pipes are different. Crankcase pressure is different too. QV still surge, but not as easily. To stop QV surging, over fill by ~20mm, but NO MORE, as the vapour separator can't cope, and you'll get oil in the air box/plenum if you over fill too much. Sorry Horse, you're wrong, **** Google, **** Horse too... ask A26 Boy
swoooon! I'd love to take the credit, but alas, no. I have far higher powers of the mind, but I use them oh so differently.
I OWNED a Glass GTB for a few years (Aust. delivery of course, who'd want a rusty old unsaleable pommy ****box?). I never, ever got oil surge on the road. **** FF, **** A26 Baby and in future leave all the bull**** to Robert.
Maybe you're slow? You ARE only 3 sec faster than Moretti after all. Maybe you're a good boy and kept your oil level closely watched, and didn't let it get below ~ half. But many don't, and if you let it get down too low it WILL surge. FF recently found a wet sump car fitted with a dry sump engine sump pan, and it surged at VERY low speeds as it has no sunp baffles of ANY kind.
They all came out of the same factory Horse, so I still to this day can't work out why the Aussies think their cars are the best, sure they may have better resale value in Australia, but that's about it. The 308 is the Commodore of Ferraris so will never be worth anything. You need to own LHD Ferrari to make money IMO, so this whole aussie deliverd thing is just wank. BTW, I can confirm that my car is not rusty, I made sure of that with the rebuild.
I often travelled with Minogue in his car at speed, can i suggest he would out drive any other wet sump owner in Australia and i never saw him have a problem,I think on the track he would overfill the oil tank. Oil surge on the road, how embarressing/crap. as they say , go home pommie go home.
It's never gunna change, in Australia the best resale is on cars sold new here. So you don't think you could make any money on a RHD Ferrari? Wake up to youself! p.s. I'd hope with the huge amount of money you spent that the rust hasn't returned.... ...yet.
Well, you're smarter than many, but still ONLY 3 sec faster than Moretti and, it's like a sump, only different, in a similar kind of way, almost identical you could say.
As I said, 308's are the Commodore's of Ferrari's. I didn't buy my car to make money. I bought it to live a dream, so the money I spent is irrelevant. I own it and am loving it, irrespective of where it first landed. It just so happens that my car is a dry sump which suits track days. That's all I care about. I had to put baffles in the sump of my HSV to protect the engine. To me it's all about lap times. You can't drive a car fast on the road legally. It's a shame Horse we never got to compete with one another. I have a sneaking suspicion we are very similar in a non identical way.
Can you go back to the drunks forum now? If we wanted to read this bullsh*t, we'd go there. Amazing crap you talk...so transparent too.
