I'm buying an F430 private party soon, I am already aware of maintenance cost, but other then the financial aspect is there anything I should maybe consider or keep an eye out for?

What do you think I should pay for a 2006/2007 F430 6-speed with less then 5k miles?

With all due respect here, I think (from your brief post) that's you might be getting ahead of yourself. And by that I mean, the commitment you're about to make requires a lot more due diligence than "Hey I'm about to buy a car, Anything I should know about it?"

There is enough information on this board about a 430 to fill several books. Most all of it is important. I'm not saying you should read all of it in one sitting... But I would tell you to spend a couple of night reading and doing searches. (and then maybe ask some more specific questions) I am continually amazed by the knowledge here.

Unless, you are in a financial position where this bit of money is irrelevant in which case, dive in. As long as you don't drive like an idiot the day you get it and harm yourself, most all the other issues boil down to money.

    My thoughts anyway. Welcome.

Appreciate the fast response, I was actually leaning towards general known problems in the 430 if any... All I know is I want a Ferrari and my financial situation is legitimate, at least to where I can afford a 350k car. Do I want to spend 300k + on a car? Not quite yet, I just turned 23 a couple weeks ago. As of now I plan on keeping the 430 for an unknown time period and then upgrading.

I have a lot of experience with fast cars and wild toys. That being said I respect the power to a certain extent...

As stated above, you should think more about this and do more research. If you were serious, you'd have your price named for the car by now at the least.

Welcome to FChat and I wish you the best on your F430 hunting.

If you want information, search down in the F430 section. It's impossible to give you anything but "it's a good car.. buy it" from your description. No year, no model, no mileage, no service or repair information, no mention of maintenance or campaigns being attended to...

    We're not mind readers.

If you can afford the car and you like it, buy it. Our only suggestion is have an expert look at it first in case there's something seriously wrong. In general, there's no major issues with the F430's. Some have had the headers replaced under warranty.

The trick is to buy a good one that's been well maintained. If you've found a good one that you like, buy it is my best advice.

Some here have searched literally years for the right car. Others just buy one on a whim. There is no right or wrong anwer.

If you could afford a $350k+ car you would know more about it, at least that for $300k you can get TWO 430's  You can send me $25k for saving you $200k, thanks.

I am hopping over to the NASA forum to ask if $2.35 mil is a good price for a retired shuttle that I am buying soon, I wonder if I should be more concerned about fuel or maintenance? Oh well I will just skimp on one.....

Well no offense but there is not much research you can do: Autotrader/Ebay/Cars/Dupont, I am familiar with what the 06/07/08/all Ferrari asking prices are, I am just wondering, with staggering listing price differences from 130-175 what should I realistically pay for my inquired 430? As I could think of much better ways to part with 20-30 grand then paying above market value. Regardless of what is listed on the internet I would feel more comfortable making a purchase with the help of a veteran Ferrari enthusiast that has experience with Ferrari pricing.

Also where price inquiry is definitely a concern of mine, it is principle rather then effect, honestly now that I think about it.

    Thank you for the response's.

Murcie Murcie - Your comment is not legit, I do know a lot about Ferrari's and everything for that matter... I'm not going to justify making this a topic of my financial situation, anyway still confused as to what exactly your trying to say

If you're willing and able to spend upwards of 350K for a car, why not purchase a 458? The 430 is priced at half what the 458 is.

Kieran's suggestion with research was about reading information on this site and doing research in that manner, NOT about looking at a few online 3rd party car listing sites. With that said your above post says you know a lot about Ferrari's and everything in general, so why bother coming here to even ask for help?

Kieran was referring to doing some research in the 430 section here which is a few forums down. As far as price goes, options and colors would help people value the car you want better. A spider will cost much more than the coupe. If the car has the carbon ceramic brakes it would cost a bit more. A red car may command more of a premium than a white car. There are too many variables to be able to properly price a car with just the year, mileage and transmission. The more you list here, the more people can help you out with this.

Thanks 250 - Yeah I believe I did actually post a vague description ( 2006/2007 with less then 5k miles ), but here is a more accurate description...

    2006/2007 F430 Coupe 6-Speed

    Exterior Color - Black/White/Graphite

Interior - Red/Black/Black-Yellow/ Anything but Tan

Optimal Combos - Black with Red interior or Grey with red interior

cool. where do you live? that could be a long (and fun) drive :)

I love silverstone (gray)/red. beautiful combination. and considered a bit of an "off" color, as everyone wants red/tan

    good luck with the search!

Actually not really as if you go back he is referring to some " it " that costs " 350k " - I know what he means obviously, but I'm not ignorant when it comes to Ferrari's at all, my initial post was definitely an open question and was not very direct to a certain inquiry, but not anywhere does it imply I'm not decently informed on the cars stature.

If you can afford up to a 350k car, and love the 430 styling - why not go for the Scuderia or 16M. They are the best of the 430 lineup IMO! They should be well under ur budget still.

Yeah that car looks gorgeous, first thing I am going to do is 5% tint, black HRE comp series, and some simple bolt-ons/tune. I agree, red/tan is played out beyond belief. I'm located in Chicago so your most likely right about the drive as a florida/cali car would be optimal... from a hot celebrity female that finds me charming ;)

Well I'm the type that would rather throw on a custom professional suspension set-up and a UGR TT kit, but I can keep justifying to a LP640 or Apollo... So I will be good with just a regular 430 for now

Out of curiosity, why are you limiting yourself to a car with less than 5,000 miles? Expanding on the mileage could make your search a bit easier. These cars hold up pretty well and actually feel faster and run stronger as the mileage builds up. I have driven two F430s, a 2007 Coupe with about 48,000 miles on it and a 2007 Spider with about 7,000 miles on it pretty much back to back and the coupe pulled much harder and felt better overall.

See that is great to hear because I plan on driving this cross country ( Vegas, Miami, LA ) - I guess 10k miles is fine then

Mmm yes, is that Tan interior? It says brown, I don't know... What would you guys pay for the above linked ebay add, better yet, what did that dealer buy the car for?
